  • What were you reclaiming: 2 Loans
    Who was the provider: Barclays
How much did you get back: £6178
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: filled out form on their website
And then write your brief reclaim tale:
Loans were form circa 1998/1999, I filled out the form on Barclays website on 28/01/2014, cheque arrived today that both loans were upheld :T
    LBM 11/2009 Total Debts 11/2009 £44624 with DFD 2015 :(

You can try, but eighteen years on, it's unlikely to be successful unless you have a very robust complaint with verifiable evidence of more than just payment of PPI.
  • Thank you for always replying promptly

But i dont know why you are so negative on peoples chances, let me put you straight as a novice... i have made 11 ppi complaints to barclays, hsbc mbna and natwest and 11 have been uplheld in some cases i have got £1500 godwill and in others around £800

so please do not tell people " you got no chance from 18 years ago"

EVERYONE IF YOU HAVE ANY PROOF, ANY STATEMENT, SEND IT TO WHOEVER SOLD IT TO YOU, YOU WILL GET PAID OUT, DONT LISTEN TO PEOPLE WHO PUT YOU OFF... YOU CAN GET YOUR MONEY BACK, KEEP COMPLAING, GO TO THE FOS, KEEPING CALLING THE FOS, STAY ON TOP !!
  • And just to add the 11 ppi complaints i have made are all from 1992 to 1998 on masterloans and all sorts

I said any complaint from so long ago and in the circumstances you describe would be unlikely to succeed unless it was very robust indeed.
HSBC are very likely to just deny any liability.

I never at any time said you had "no chance".

    Bye.

What were you reclaiming: Halifax Total Mortgage Protection Ins.
    Who was the provider: Halifax
How much did you get back: £8k :j:T
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Had to go to FO.
And then write your brief reclaim tale I claimed as at the time of the sale I was in reciept of a monthly pension from my late husband which exceeded my mortgage every month. Because I could prove I had a 2nd income they judged it a mis-sale as I didnt need it. Also claimed for Critical Illness Cover and Life cover back but judging by the response theyve not considered that at all so ive referred it back to them. Not grumbling tho as chuffed Ive got all payments for MPPI back from 2001 to 2010 plus interest

Following on from the above, had a success with Life Cover being refunded so another cheque is in the post from Halifax for £2,500, well chuffed. Theyve declined the Critical Illness Cover and gave a lengthy response as to why not and as it doesnt make any sense I may just bat it back and see. Happy days :j
