  • I sent off the questionnaire on the 7th January to Santander about being missold PPI on 2 loans I had taken out with Abbey over a course of 5 years. I received a letter 18th January to say they were upholding it and have settled at £2,873. I had kept no paperwork and they provided me with a copy of the application form and calculations and it looks correct. This is from me thinking I wasn't 100% sure I had taken it out. It certainly pays to enquire.

I know for a fact that I had it on New Look and Topshop cards, again I have no paperwork. Is it Santander that deal with these now? Am I right in thinking that there is an address in Leeds to send this to?
  • Thank you for such an amazing forum, it's been such a help to me so far. I currently have 2 complaints pending, one for an Egg CC (which I'm not holding my breath over) and another much more significant one with the Co-op. Have had continuous consolidation loans with them from 2000 - 2013. At first when I enquired they said I had no PPI but then had a phone call from branch manager to say in fact 4 loans had PPI and she'd send me the relevant forms. I was shocked at the figures I received:-

    Loan 1 in 2000 9k - £2495.46 PPI, 59 months
    Loan 2 in 2001 10k - £2969.48 PPI, 59 months
    Loan 3 in 2002 £11,850 - £3501.87, 59 months
    Loan 4 in 2003 10k - £2090.44, 47 months

I have since had continuous loans up until I settled the last one early in 2013. I understand that these are front loaded and I would have received a rebate of PPI each time they were consolidated, but what I'd like to know is a) what have people's experience been with the Co-op and getting a redress of PPI such as this? And b) will the subsequent loans without PPI be taken into consideration as I believe each may have carried over some funds or interest from the ones with PPI?

My reasons for miss-sell are that I have 6 months full pay, 6 months half pay at work plus a redundancy package and also pre existing medical conditions which were never asked about.

I've completed forms and sent them off - had a letter back from both Egg and Co-op to say they're being investigated but appreciate I may be in for the long haul!

Many thanks for reading this so far, will keep you posted.

    Hi all
I received a letter from Lloyd's saying I may have been missold PPi in November
Filled in relevant forms , had a couple of phone calls asking me various things which I couldn't remember
I was in an abusive marriage at the time and my ex husband arranged the loans and I basically signed the paperwork
All loans done over the internet totalling over 17000
At the 8 week point today and no word ... What do you think will happen ? I can't remember anything about PPi and it was all done over the internet
Feel a bit stupid but it wasn't a great time of my life
    Thanks in advance

Hopefully you will hear soon, give them another week or so and then ring them and ask what is happening.
If you were mis sold then they will uphold, fingers crossed.

If you win, you will receive the whole PPI back with interest for each loan, this will give you any PPI carried over after the rebates, regardless.

The rebates for your loans would have been generous as you re loaned every year and so did not repay all of the PPI due to the rebates, you should still have a nice amount back though.

    I believe it is Santander.

  • Hi can you help?

I wrote to gmac to complain about mis sold ppi... I received a letter this morning saying sorry they could not help I need to go directly to the dealer that I purchased the car from in this case vauxhall.

Is this correct and if so what is the next step.

    Please help
  • Is this correct and if so what is the next step.
Yes, any complaint about mis-selling has to be sent to the seller of the insurance, the provider has no liability.
The next step is that you forward your complaint to the dealer together with any supporting evidence you might have. Do be aware that if the sale took place earlier than January 2005 the dealer won't have to consider your complaint as it is pre-regulation.
  • Thank you so much

The car was purchased in 2006 I had a statement from gmac stating I was paying 55 pounds a month payment protection I didnt even know I had. I will forward the letter received today along with the complaint letter to vauxhall.
  • I didnt even know I had.
If you use this as your complaint reason, the dealer will just point to the documentation you signed showing you did know and have simply forgotten.

Look for stronger reasons if you want success.
