Hiya, I wanted to share a successful ppi claim from Blackhorse, I never thought in a million years I would get my money back but I did, I wrote a simple letter saying I hadnt agreeded to ppi and I wanted my money back, 2 weeks later I received a letter and a form to fill in to have my cheque sent out, the cheque was for £2600,00 of which I was entitled to half as I spilt with my ex patner some time ago, I then received another letter about another loan this one is for £1100,00 again I'm entitled to half just waiting for the cheque, I'm over the moon :j I'm now trying Natwest but not getting very far, I cant find the policy numbers and they say they wont deal with my complaint unless I have them, I have wrote to them asking for this information with no joy, any help with this would be great, thanks in advance

    :j dont give up:j

Ring Natwest and ask who the insurer was and ask them for the policy numbers, usually the loan numbers are all you need as the PPI is linked to that account, do you have the account number?.

    Hi all
I was on here over last weekend and saw all the post's but I didn't have any paperwork kept.
I thought there is nothing to lose, so Monday morning phoned barclays to start a claim only vaguely remembering PPI on two small loans in the early years of 2000-2004 maybe. The next day I got two claim forms with the last four digits of different account numbers (assuming these are the loan account) filled these in and posted back Wednesday.
I called Friday to check the forms had got there safely which they had and I also was told my claim was valid but would have to wait for the calculated amount.
That night I checked my account and to my utter shock £2255 WOOP WOOP, honestly never imagined that amount.
Now awaiting the letter to see if this is for both loans or just one?
Thank you all for the inspiration and guidance and good look to anyone waiting to hear back.
Anyone thinking of trying, have a go there is nothing to lose and everything to gain.
Now waiting to hear from Barclay card, Santander for store cards , GE for store card, Mint for credit card. Fingers crossed.
  • I've managed to successfully reclaim £5000 from welcome finance. It took a little while to find the correct correspondence address but once established I sent one letter and within four weeks the money was account.
  • I had a £2500 loan with FD about 6 years ago - didn't keep any of the paperwork once I paid it off, and had no idea whether I had PPI or not, so forgot about it. Got a letter out of the blue from FD in November saying I might have had PPI and enclosing a claim form! I was astonished. I filled it out, even though I had to asnwer 'can't remember' to some questions, as it was so long ago and have no proof. Thought at most they might refund me £200-300 if lucky.

Received letter this morning upholding my complaint and offering £1200!!!! Nearly fell off the sofa in surprise and delight! Not often I get such good news in a letter!

Am so so happy. Would just say to everyone - if you even think you may be owed PPI, you must put in a claim. In my case, they approached me so couldn't be happier... :j:j:j
  • Dear MoneySaving Expert,
I saw the PPI forum in 2011 and I kept meaning to sit down and fill in the template, after all what could I lose from doing this!
I finally sat down and filled in the template last year for my credit card and flexi loan with Cahoot. Fortunately I had printed out emails re: my loan and credit card, so it made it easy to state how the PPI payments had caused me hardship.
It took approximately 3 months for the letters to be processed however I was successful and gained a total of over £6,200 from Santander (the parent company). :T
I'd like to thank MoneySaving Expert for the useful PPI guide and would like to encourage anyone reading my post who has made PPI payments to sit down one evening and fill in the template. You might end up with a little nest egg. :rotfl:

I had a loan with Lloyd's tsb and though I would try and reclaim the ppi back, I was knocked back and told the case was closed, this was over a year ago and I thought no more about it. I received a letter yesterday from Lloyd's with a cheque for just over £ 2000 in it,can I ask if this has happened to anyone else, it just seems strange. I'm not knocking it obviously as I'm in need of the money and it'll mean I can get rid of my credit card :j.

  • Hi,I'm new to this forum so just a quick question.I had a PPI claim rejected by HFC on a credit card I had,so I then went to the FSA who upheld my complaint and told HFC to pay me compensation.
HFC have written back and said they don't agree with the FSA's finding.Does anyone know what will happen now, even though the FSA have said they are still investigating is that the end of my claim simply because they have rejected it?
