  • Gobsmacked! Claimed from Lloyds TSB on loans going back 15 years - one letter, two phone interviews (where I had very little information to give them)...just got 6 cheques totalling £21k. These weren't big loans, I was naive enough to agree to PPI (sold pushily). I am now debt free thanks to MSE

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not use any of the greedy rip of claims management companies out there, I stupidly used one for a claim with Natwest I was refunded 6.8k, I had to give them just over 2k, all they do is fill in exactly the same forms available on this website and others, I had previously had other loans so I downloaded the forms sent them of and have just been refunded 5k from citi bank without having to pay out a single penny, I wish I'd done it first time around its such a simple procedure, good luck everyone

Well I got a very pleasant surprise last night - I got home to find a letter from Tesco Bank saying that they are going to pay me an extra £338 on top of the original 'gesture of goodwill' of £948 that I received when I originally complained back in 2010.

Apparently they have been reviewing the way they investigated their PPI complaints and have decided that their original offer did not fully reflect the costs I paid for the insurance.

Needless to say I am very pleased about this, has anyone else had the same letter? Is it just Tesco Bank who have been doing this - I had one claim which was rejected by RBS (who part owned Tesco Bank at the time), just wondering whether I should re-visit it?

Hi there, just wondering if it might be worth me asking Lloyds to re-consider a rejection I had from them last year due to the news this morning of them de-frauding people out of their claims? I know the usual process if rejected is the 'you have so long to report to ombudsman if you don't agree', BUT as they have sacked their PPI handling company - deloitte - wondered if anyone thinks I would stand a chance or not worth bothering?

  • Hi everyone

Not read through all the posts but just wanted to inform people of the situation I'm in at the moment with CPP. I rang them about PPI when I read about the company being involved in mis-selling a few weeks ago.

It was an online policy that I was talking to them about. I gave them my details and they said they had no record of the address I had given them.
They wrote to me at my new address and stated that after a thorough investigation they had found out that I had taken out a policy with them but had cancelled it before making any payments to them.

My partner who does all my admin, bless her, discovered a letter from CPP from 2010 with an insurance certificate and a letter saying that I had nothing to do and the policy will automatically re-new for the following year.

    Hmmmm...how thorough was this investigation.

I rang them back and gave them the policy number on the documents with the address that I had told them about before and, miraculously,I was in fact on their system. It would appear to be true of all these companies that they are trying to deflect people from claiming.
This particular policy referred to a Tesco credit card so I will now be contacting them to see if anything has gone awry there as well.

You won a citi cards payout that is a rare event not many people have been so successful well done. As a matter of interest could you quote the date started of your citi card account ? 2002 or 1998.

Yes, my Citi Card started in mid 2002. They were very quick. Of course, they never state the exact reason but it's likely to be because I was self-employed and told them that.

You had 6 months from the original rejection to go tot he FOS with your complaint. I doubt the FOS will consider your complaint now, unless you have very good reasons for not sending it to them.
As you were aware of your choice to forward it to them, I would suggest that that avenue is closed.

Misshandling was only identitifed at one center, it doesn't meanall LLoyds complaints have been mishandled, as is borne out by the number of successes here.

However, you can send it back to them and see what they say, they can only say no.

I might take a look and see if anything identifies where it was handled first. Just annoying as out of all of the claims I had, that one was the one I most convinced about being mis-sold 100% ! Thanks for the reply.
