I used the same template for all, as I just ticked the box on the credit card application form. I used the FOS template. I have now sent a letter to the Financial Ombudsman to query why with the same details, two companies paid, but the third didn't.
It's possible you had auto-payouts with no invesitgation. If you applied yourself by tiking a box on a postal application, you were not missold, you missbought.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Good news at last.
Letter from FOS stating that Lloyds(black horse) have agreed to making me an offer for compensation for mis sold PPI.
FOS said to give them up 8 weeks for Lloyds to calculate the correct amount.
Thanks for your help and will keep you informed of final payout.0 -
I have made four claims and have won on each of them. MBNA 4500, Citicards 2000, Liverpool Victoria 2500 and finally this week HSBC 950. I am fairly certain that with HSBC it was easier to pay out than to go to FOS although in this case the PPI had been frontloaded and the loan had been repaid within 8 months.
What I have learned is that you need to thoroughly prepare if your loans/credit cards go back a long way. Two of mine were from 1998 and the other two from 2002. The balance between 'mis-selling' and 'mis-buying' is a fine one so prepare your ground thoroughly if you think you have a valid case and spend time digging out every bit of paperwork you have.0 -
Hi all,
I just received a letter from the Ombudsman stating they have upheld my complaint against Cheltenham & Gloucester (using Lloydstsb) for my mortgage payments.
C&G/Lloyds declined last year so I went to the FOS and a year later they have agreed with me. They state I should receive an offer letter within 28 days, does anyone know if this is correct or if they are taking a lot longer.
Thanks!!!
A follow on from the above quoted post. I spoke to LloydsTSB on Friday and they have told me "good news, your offer was sent out to you yesterday via 2nd class post and you should receive it in the next few days".
I asked the lady if she could tell me how much the offer was but she said she couldn't. I am not sure if she was telling me the truth about being sent an offer yesterday as it seems a little odd she couldn't tell me how much the offer was??0 -
She probably knows you were sent a message but your money is not her business.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

Hello All
After spending a bit of time reading all the various stories, i could do with some help/ advice please.
I have already had a pay out from RBS around 6 years ago for £2000 for miss selling me PPI on a loan i had, however after recently viewing my credit file i see i have had different account numbers for loans with them. I thought at the time i had only the one loan acc and that was the pay out i received but after ringing them up i had a total of 11 loans!
I no longer bank or owe anything to RBS, but all the loans i had were refinancing loans all stemming from the first. So i have wrote of to the Manchester address requesting all the loan acc's that had PPi attached to them. I'm still waiting for them at the moment.
Unfortunately i have no paperwork at all on which account i claimed on nor any other documents on the loans.
So my question is, Can i still reclaim on the older loan accounts as they were without doubt miss sold to me as well. My first loan dates back to 1998.
Many thanks in advance for taking the time to Help0 -

You won a citi cards payout that is a rare event not many people have been so successful well done. As a matter of interest could you quote the date started of your citi card account ? 2002 or 1998.Light travels faster than sound.
This is why some people seem as bright until you hear them.0 -
