  • What were you reclaiming: 2 Loans..3k and 5k payed off one early with the other loan
Who was the provider: Lloyds TSB
How much did you get back: £1281.05
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: After a letter
Woot so glad i came to this site i wouldn't of done anything about my old loans as i thought i wouldn't of stood a chance, so after one phone call to them and two back from them asking why i thought i was miss-sold PPI...(got full sick pay, plus i wouldn't of got the loan if i didn't take out the insurance), I just received a letter from them this morning one day under the 8 weeks saying that my complaint has been upheld and 1281.05 will be in my account within 28 days woot so happy thank you all :j:j:j:j:j:beer:

Reclaimed back so far direct from banks:
    Welcome finance loan (FSCS) £1265
    Barclays loan £761
    M&S loan £844
    Lloyds loan £725

    Total redress so far = £ 3595

Waiting on re investigation for Halifax consolidation loans . They part upheld and I sent more information so they have now upheld and calculating amount.

BarclayCard still haven't issued me with a 1st final response since feb 2013 and have openly admitted they messed up handling my complaint so that's now logged with ombudsman although I haven't got the FOS investigating yet as Barclaycard are dealing with it as a priority case now so I am giving them a bit more time rather than wait 18 months with FOS but its at least logged with them now in case I need to soon.

Waiting from responses from Santander on few store cards but they seem to reject by default so a couple are with FOS

Finally got 2 Halifax credit cards being investigated with FOS and 1 other Barclaycard ( my partners )

So overall good result so far :-D

Get as much evidence as you can and send it right from the off as if you don't get all the evidence and info to them prior to them sending you 1st response they will take ages re investigating it as re investigations on complaints are not limited to 8 weeks for decisions like the first final response ...so effectively they can take as long as they like in making another decision.

Did post elsewhere, but thought I'd put it in the right place this time.

Had a questionnaire from Black Horse regarding our old loan & was asked to fill it in regarding possible mis-sold PPI. Phoned them this week as their 8 weeks is nearly up to be told Yes.. it was mis-sold, you can expect a refund. Well the 8 weeks is up tomorrow, so rang them today..
    *dramatic pause for effect*

Figures have been finalised, you will be refunded £7,500.....

I am so happy right now I could cry.. All for the cost of a stamp!!!

    :D
  • Made a complaint against Mbna. Letter through today upholding complaint. As card is closed, £1500 odds to be refunded by cheque

Big thanks to all who gave advice especially taff and moneyinept for helpful advice

hi are barclays still responsible for old morgan and stanley and goldfish credit cards prior to 2008 when barclays took over these cards as i had a goldfish card which i had for nine years which was paid and closed in 2006/07 a year before barclays took over the cards ,are barclays still responsible for ppi payout or who is
    please help !

We had a Goldfish card and when we approached the original provider we were told the account had been sold on to several banks,Barclays being the last,we currently have a dispute with them over PPI. Our account was also closed before Barclay took it over.Hope this helps.
  • Gobsmacked! Claimed from Lloyds TSB on loans going back 15 years - one letter, two phone interviews (where I had very little information to give them)...just got 6 cheques totalling £21k. These weren't big loans, I was naive enough to agree to PPI (sold pushily). I am now debt free thanks to MSE

Hi I have also had loans with lloyds tsb where I have no paperwork and go back along way, can I ask where did you start? What did you state in your initial correspondence? I´d really like to try and get the ppi back if I could!

  • Hi all please please please have a go at claiming for PPI. My partner and I used this website and all the pre written letters - although it took a few weeks my partner had been sold PPI with a mortgage and disclosed his previous illness paid up every year and when he went to claim they refused it! He continued to pay for a useless insurance until highlighted by Martin on the TV. He has just received £2100 - all his money back
+ 8% interest! all thanks to this website. Don't bother with those firms that will do it for you - there are plenty of people on the forum to help - and remember he who dares Rodney - he who dares:T

I had a loan from Direct Line from 2002 for a small amount pending my divorce settlement. They knew I'd be paying off the loan in a couple of months and that this was just to help with cash flow. When clearing my divorce file prior to moving house recently, I came across the loan agreement which mentioned PPI. So I filled in the form on MSE - nothing ventured etc - thinking that if I got anything that would be a bonus.

Just had an offer of £445 which is unexpected and very welcome at the moment - quite a good reward for clearing out a file!

    Thank you MSE !
