I have a copy of every statement and the total ppi comes to £1600. They have broken it down like this:
Difference between the actual and revised balance =£2978.11
    Interest at 8% = £974.71
    Total. =£3952.82
Looks fine to me, why are you querying if you've already had a breakdown?
  • I am querying it because they haven't illustrated how they have come up with the figure of £2978.11

The "revised balance" will be the actual amount of PPI paid plus attendant interest.
  • Made a complaint against Mbna. Letter through today upholding complaint. As card is closed, £1500 odds to be refunded by cheque

Big thanks to all who gave advice especially taff and moneyinept for helpful advice

The figure of 2978 reflects what you paid, plus the interest added as a result of the PPI

A colleague at work advised me to get in touch with M&S money regarding PPI on any loans I may have had; took her advice and wrote about 8 weeks ago, they sent the forms to fill in and have today received a letter offering me £1,102 in full and final settlement on 3 loans I've had, yay :j
    DMP starts June 2012, £38,180.

    Balance June 2015 £26,046 (paid off 32%)

  • Hi,

Just thought I'd add my experience to this thread. After hearing so many successful PPI claim stories I thought I'd give it a go myself. Sent off a letter & form to Halifax around 5 weeks ago relating to PPI on a credit card. I received one phonecall from Halifax about 2 weeks after sending my letter. Anyway, yesterday I recieved an offer letter and they are sending me a cheque for £3289 including interest

Not too bad for the little effort it took to fill in a form and type a letter

Got a letter back in March from HSBC saying that I may have been missold PPI on a loan for two reasons (and 2 reasons that this site doesn't actually mention):
    - If I was taking out a loan to consolidate debts then they would not have recommended PPI had they known this (they didn't ask)
    - If I had any intention of borrowing money in the future then they may have not recommended PPI had they known this (they didn't ask and I was 24 at the time, so likely that I would at some point borrow again on a mortgage)

I filled in their questionnaire and sent it off. I came home today to find the letter to say I would be offered a full and final settlement for £8,833!!!!! I can't believe it. I am honestly in shock. I had hoped I'd win but really didn't expect more than a few hundred quid back. I no longer have the paperwork (paid off the loan early nearly 4 years ago before I got a mortgage). I can't even remember how much I borrowed originally (that is shocking, but it was 11 years ago!)

I am over the moon. I never bothered to claim before as I didn't fit the criteria that this site suggests. This couldn't have come at a better time when we are really struggling with a young baby and having been on stat mat.

I am in exactly the same situation, but my 8 weeks are up this Friday, and the HSBC just rang and basically "grilled me" on why I thought I was misold. Did you get a call, or am I special lol? Is getting a call standard procedure in these cases?
