LTSB SUCCESS!!!!
What were you reclaiming: Loan
Who was the provider: LloydsTSB
How much did you get back: £9,500
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: FOS
Wrote to LTSB in September 2012 and received a rejection shortly after. FOS involvement was confirmed at the end of 2012, and in May 2013 got a letter from FOS stating that LTSB were going to pay out following their involvement. Result was 9.5K into my account at the end of last week. Absolutely brilliant result....0 -

Hi, can I ask if you spoke to the FOS regarding your case? I have have a complaint against Barclaycard logged with FOS since July 2012 and apart from 2 letters saying it was still ongoing have heard nothing for the last 3 or 4 months. I know it can take up to 18 months but wondered if it was worth calling them for an update?0 -
The FOS gives the institution a chance to pay the PPI back before it invesitgates so the institution can avoid paying the £900 fee.
The quick results from theFOS are the result of the company deciding to pay up rather than pay the fee and this is a lot quicker than a complaint which is being contested and waiting for paperwork.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Recieved written confirmation from Black Horse today, from a form they sent to me, to fill in. Final figure - £7,051. Acceptance letter being sent back on monday.
I never thought I would hear anything from them.. I'm just so happy...
I also have a loan with Welcome, but cannot remember if i have PPI, does anyone have any tales about them?0 -
There are plenty of things around about welcome, do a forum search. Also have a look at the FSCS website if it was sold after Janaury 2005.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

Hi all,looking for some advice. I have won my claim against the Bank of Scotland after going to FOS and they have now sent me a letter saying what they think I am due. My concern is,they have put an award figure in their correspondence,but at no point do they illustrate how they got that figure. Has anyone else found themselves in this position,and if so,what did they do about getting an accurate breakdown of the how the company came to that conclusion.0

Thanks for that. My claim was for a credit card that goes back to January 1999. I have a copy of every statement and the total ppi comes to £1600. They have broken it down like this:
Difference between the actual and revised balance =£2978.11
Interest at 8% = £974.71
Total. =£3952.820
