  • Yes, just send it first class post, but get proof of posting from the Post Office for peace of mind.

On Thursday night I found out RBS had credited my account that day with a PPI refend of £130. This is considerably below the £2381 they offered, so I'm assuming it's some kind of interest adjustment — on Friday I made the final payment to my RBS loan, so maybe it has something to do with that. So I guess they had received my acceptance after all and the email to customer services had some kind of effect, despite them not getting in touch. I'll give them a few days and see if the rest of the money arrives.

Thank you thank you so much

All that i've tried to do is prove that the banks are, manipulating every opportunity to try and avoid full redress, mine is a prime example shame on them, never give up and don't trust anything to chance especially a good will gesture when clearly they're skirting around the edge's of fraud

The only thing I would add for anyone else reading this who has historical loans is to research and collate all the evidence BEFORE complaint and ensure all the documentary evidence is included with the complaint.
Otherwise, it's a long drawn out process...

i couldn't agree more, i just assumed the banks and fos would at least request all the information regarding my PPi and reach agreement, had i known...... I'd of requested a sar at the beginning of my complaint....... had i known about the sar in the 1st place

all that I've learnt is from reading people's own experiences on this site, and the advice from people like yourself and i'm grateful.
I said I was wet behind my ears, but when i feel someone's !!!!ing up my back and telling me its raining its very annoying and make's me want to stand up for my rights

New here and would appreciate some advice. We started our mis sold PPI claim on 16th April. The loan was taken out in Jan 2005 and we settled it in full in May 2007 when we moved house. Loans.co.uk wrote to us on the 15th May confirming they were upholding our complaint (the ppi was in my partners name and at the time of taking the loan out he was and still is self-employed) and would write to us with a compensation figure. We have not heard anything since and have no response to any emails sent. My question is does the 8 week deadline include receiving payment too, or is it providing they have given their response within 8 weeks that means they have met the 8 week deadline. Thank you in advance for any advice.

They have met the 8 week deadline, it is only 2 weeks since you received the upheld letter, give them time to send you the offer, it should not be too much longer.

Thank you. I was a bit concerned after reading various posts on other threads about LCUK. Our claim just seemed to have gone really smoothly!
  • I have got an on going claim for the mis-selling of PPi against Lloyds TSB, initially it was rejected by Lloyds so i got in contact with the Ombudsman who have been fighting my claim for me. I had a response from the Ombudsman about 3 months ago saving that they agree with me and are going to uphold my claim and that they have contacted Lloyds asking them to respond within 4 weeks, that time has long gone by so i decided to call the Ombudsman myself for an update on my claim.

Now this is the alarming news that was relayed back to myself, basically all claims against Lloyds TSB are on hold while they are in discussions with the Ombudsman about the amount of claims that they are receiving. They can't give me a timescale on when theses discussions are going to over so now I'm left in limbo again.

Firstly, has anybody heard of this happening to anybody else and secondly, is this legal what Lloyds are doing or are they just delaying the repayments of mis -sold PPi??

Any news on this would be greatly appreciated.

Just filed a claim against Lloyds TSB for my mum 2 months ago for a loan she has that is still live, they went back through 7 loans that she has had over the years, we had no stalling tactics, and on Thursday last week she received a letter to say that they would be crediting her account with £17,584.58!!!!!!!! not a bad return for 2 first class stamps.

    Hi

just wanted to share my success stories. I wouldn't have thought about reclaiming PPI but then I received a letter from HSBC at the start of the year saying they believed that I had been mis-sold PPI on a series of loans dating back to the mid 90s. I filled out the forms and 3 months later - £15,000 paid back to me! This inspired me to look at credit cards and CPP - Barclaycard have now repaid me £8000 (this was for CPP on an old Egg Card, that was then bought by Barclaycard) I also had a loan arranged with Norton Finance - the FCS have this weekend sent me a cheque for £4099!!!! So, in total, so far I have received £27,000. All of this has paid off debts, so I am now in a much stronger financial position. So, all I have to say is - take a moment, fill out the forms, pick up the phone and get your loan records if the loan is no longer active, it takes moments to do and it is so worth doing! Don't use companies - do it yourself and keep all compensation for yourself!!

The only dark cloud in this story is MBNA who seem to be adopting delaying tactics. I completed an application for them to investigate my CPP, and the day before the FOS 12 week deadline date they called me saying they needed more information. Because my account was so so so old (1997) and hadn't been active for 5 years I had forgotten some of my security questions and failed DPA. They then wrote to me saying because I had failed DPA they were closing my claim. I called them, passed DPA (as I remembered my security details) and asked them to re-open the claim, which they did. Hearing nothing back from them I called last week and was told that the case was still being looked at but because they had closed and then re-opened my case the FOS deadlines no longer applied. Their letter closing the case (on a technicality) met the the FOS deadline requirements and now that they had re-opened the case it fell outside of the FOS rules.

So, I am waiting to see what happens with this, but as MBNA were the most complained about organisation last year to the FOS I am hardly surprised they are delaying things. I will advise on what happens with this!!!
