After receiving a no no from the Halifax in October I decided to push on and involve the ombudsman and today after only 7 month I've received a letter off the ombudsman ruling in our favour, just waiting on an offer now from the Halifax which can take up to 8 weeks, so happy, thank you to this site without it we wouldn't of pursued,:j:j:j0

- What were you reclaiming: added interest to ppi on a loan. We knew we had ppi, didnt know it had been added to the loan and extra interest added to it.
- Who was the provider: Nationwide
- How much did you get back: See below
- Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Recieved a letter of Nationwide telling us we may be able to make a claim.
We filled the letter in , sent it back and have had the offer through today.
Which states : The difference(overpayment) amounts to £742.42.We will refund this sum and pay an additonal 8% simple interest on t his amount from repayment to loan date, which equals £366.26
In addition we have calculated you paid a total of £823 in payments (20 payments between Aug'05 and March '07 @£41.15) Interest has been calculated on each ppi premium at the statutory rate of 8% simple and has been forward dated for a further 28days from the date of calculation. This amounts to £459.94
Hubby now needs to fill in the form and send it back - states approx 4 weeks to have the money
One happy familyIf we had not had the letter off Nationwide and also not come on here , we would not have known or have filled in the form to send it back. Also they have been very quick replying .

They sent letter dated 22nd April. We replied 3rd May. We recieved a letter a few days later saying will give a decision within 8 weeks and had their answer today. So less than the 8 weeks :T
Loan was for £15,000 over 6 years but had repaid it early
We have had several loans off them over the years so going to fill an online ppi form with Nationwide to see if there is anything else .
Never thought about it until they wrote to us :j0 -
Thanks for that my 8 weeks will be up by the 7th June & they wrote yesterday to say still investigating & I will hear by the 4th June, fingers crossed, only because they wrote to me I knew I had PPI...Received £2,626.00 in PPI -2013:j

After reading about MSE re PPI reclaims, I contacted NatWest about a loan from 1999 and this morning I received a settlement offer of £3890.43; after two letters and a phone call! Not bad at al,l especially as NatWest informed me that it was part of a consolidated loan and they have refunded all elements of each loan! All I used were the template letters on MSE and a gentle nudge when all had gone quiet from NatWest. Thank you Martin and the team, I encourage everyone who thinks they may have had PPI mis-sold to reclaim, all it takes is a little patience and the MSE templates! Now I'm pursuing my banking charges on my account, encouraged by my PPI success. A HUGE thank you!!:j0

- What were you reclaiming: Miss Sold PPI on credit cards and loans
- Who was the provider: Natwest (RBS group)
- How much did you get back: £4120
- Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Direct Letters to RBS/Natwest
Quick update, had the credit card text through saying they have recieved my acceptance letter, however we are now sailing very close to the mark financially and in this rubbish weather my back fence has now decided to start to fall down, does anyone know of a way I can speed up the paying of my compensation at all as im seriously in need of the money.0 -
M & S Money wrote to me saying I might have been mis sold PPI on loans with them. I didn't even remember having ever had it but claimed on the grounds that I had sick pay, life insurance, very low or not any chance of redundancy and extra insurance to cover sick pay for longer. They wrote back a few weeks later and offered 3.5k which has been paid out.
This got me thinking and I remembered EGG credit card had sold me PPI over the phone so wrote to the Canada Sq address with one of the template questionnaires.
I had no account details or card numbers as the card was shut in 2006 but just put my name and address and the same reasons for claiming as above. The complaint was passed to Barclays and they have ruled it was mis sold and are paying out 2.5k
so altogether 6k I have got back off banks in a couple of months !!!0 -
I was clearing up and noticed old NatWest CC statements then couldn't remember if I took out PPI on them. Spoke to PPI concerns and confirmed that I did. I put in a claim and I will know by July if I get something back.
UPDATE: I sent off 2 PPI claim questionnaires to MBNA and Capital One respectively. It's a waiting game now but hope there is a positive outcome. I'm aware that trying to reclaim PPI from Capital One is difficult as I've been reading the posts and hope I'm one of the lucky ones.0
