    Hi everyone!
I was wondering if anyone could help please. I've just received an offer on my PPI from RBS, this was for a loan that i was paying off through a DMP and then out the blue I was taken to court and had a CCJ entered against me so RBS could take a charging order against my property. Any way to cut a long story short I paid my CCJ off (costs and Interest also) about 12 months ago. My question is as my CCJ had costs and interest already applied RBS cannot take any of the PPI payment off me can they as the CCJ was paid in full? I havent got any other debts within the group and just wanted to double check
    Thank you!

What ever the offer is, you will receive all of this, if your account is still running and you have arrears or a DMP then they take back what you owe them off the offer, if you have none of the above, you get it all :j.

Hi Amersall, Although Bank have stated they estimate offer to be approx. £27,000, FOS are still looking at way it was worked out, there may be a small amount of interest to be added. I have told FOS I am happy to accept this amount and they were e-mailing Bank to see if they can offer this amount to us. I thought it was merely a standard thing. Have you come across this before and does that still sound the amount that I might receive. Many thanks:)

If the whole debt was paid off in full and you owe them nothing, then I don't see why they could take anything back.

If they estimated the amount, when it is worked out, you will get what the amount actually is, you will have to wait and see :D

I heard today that the Co-Op Bank is refunding me nearly £15,000! My loan was refinanced, so went on for several years. I claimed bacause I had tried to cancel when the loan had about 18 months to run, and was refused, I only expected to get back those last payments, but they have offered me full refund of all payments as well as interest and compensation.
I have been doing cartwheels all day... then I logged in here and heard the news about the Co-Operative bank. :-( My acceptance of their offer was sent by return of post. Will I get my money?

£14947.67 was credited to my account today. Whoopee!!

I "have been meaning to" apply for PPI refund from HSBC where I am confident I have at least one valid claim. I put off making the claim. Today (22/5/13) I have received an unsolicited letter from HSBC saying I may have a claim and enclosing a form for me to fill and return. What is your advice on returning such forms? Should I ask first for details of all loans and mortgages I have had from them? I suspect my paperwork over the years is incomplete. (By the way, should HSBC be congratulated on this pro-active approach? I note they are threatening to decline any future claim if I do not claim now.) TIA.

Complete and return the form, of course!

What would this achieve? You need to have valid reasons for mis-selling of PPI, you can't just complain about all loans and mortgages you ever had.
  • What would this achieve? .
Let me know which contracts I paid PPI on and give me accurate dates so I can consider my employment status at those times.

Just fill the form in, if any loans you had were consolidated then they should consider these too if they had PPI.
You could put on the form that you would like them to consider other credit that you had with them that had PPI.
  • My first post on MSE- I've registered to say thank you for all the advice and information I've got from these pages
What were you reclaiming: mortgage PPI
Who was the provider: Legal & General, though the policy was sold by Northern Rock
How much did you get back: £3,500
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Just the questionnaire I got from MSE plus a covering letter

I sent my complaint off at the beginning of March and have just received a letter to say that my complaint has been upheld and my premiums are being refunded in full with interest. Curiously, the reason NR have given for agreeing that the policy was mis-sold is not the same as I stated in my complaint. They also state that they have been unable to assess the original sale so I'm wondering if I've just been lucky with an automatic pay out... Nevertheless, I am thrilled that I am getting the cash and it will certainly be put to excellent (and sensible) use.

Many thanks to MSE and the forum users who (unknowingly) spurred me on make the claim.
