Hello I'm new to the forum and here is my PPI claim history:

Personal loan with NatWest 2002-December 2012 (consolidated December 2005). Put it to back of my mind until March this year...family member got PPI refunded with their bank and told me to try. Didn't fill in any forms and called PPI customer concerns in Manchester. Beginning of this month I received letters offering me 3 separate amounts, signed the declarations and 2 of them in my account last Tuesday. Just waiting for the last one to be done and I can finally clear my debts (that's another story). I'm so happy something positive has happened to me at last.

Thank you soo much Martin, just had a claim from my old bank, for a loan in 04, got over £14000 back infact there is a balance owing to me of £500+,more than I could ever hope for,it was so easy to do, and still have 3 credit cards under revue.
    • What were you reclaiming: Miss Sold PPI on credit cards and loans
    • Who was the provider: Natwest (RBS group)
    • How much did you get back: £4120
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Direct Letters to RBS/Natwest
Started off with a few friends who said they had applied to reclaim ppi that they had added to loans and credit cards in early 2000's I asked for there help as having a young family and only 1 source of income this would really help us out if my claim was upheld, I hadnt realised that I had ppi on 3 of my 4 credit contracts, I have had 3 claims agreed and have sent the acceptance letter back, am now pending on payments from Natwest have felt a huge amount of pressure lift off me as im now able to bring our finances back under control.

I was clearing up and noticed old NatWest CC statements then couldn't remember if I took out PPI on them. Spoke to PPI concerns and confirmed that I did. I put in a claim and I will know by July if I get something back. :)
  • Hi. Literally just joined. So hello. Thanks for what i have already learnt and hope i can help others when i know more!

Ok so i am ppi hunting. Spoken to halifax who say i didn't have ppi but i did have "their" bill payment protection insurance and can help me no further. Is that a polite go away?

    Is it a different product?

    Thanks

  • i recentley had a letter from tesco regarding a loan with ppi, the loan was so long ago i had forgot about it, tescos are automatically paying my ppi back without me challenging them. which is nice.... now ive got the bug and am chasing every 1!!!! now i need to know are all banks run under the same rules for ppi so why dont they all just payback what is owed to us all as tesco have done.
  • Hi all
Apologies if this issue has been answered before but I'm just very frustrated with Barclaycard at the moment.
I was successfully awarded refunds on 2 different bcard accounts but the money was credited back to the card accounts as they both had balances. In one case this was just under £500 and the other was approx. £1800. Whilst this was annoying it did at least mean the balance reduced on both accounts.

These refunds appeared in December. However last month I noticed that they had refunded the smaller amount to my current bank account without any notification to myself. Obviously the card account balance then increased.

I subsequently contacted Bcard through their secure email system to ask a) why had they done this and not informed me and b) please could I have the larger amount back too? This was on 19th April and to date I have nothing more than their standard, We are looking into this for you and will be in touch response.

In desperation I contacted them again today (14th May) as I feel I have been very reasonable in giving the time to get back to me. Because I complained they have now told me that one of their customer advisers will contact me shortly.

What I want to know is, has anyone else had a similar situation and if so, did you get your money back? Am I right in thinking this is MY money not theirs and it should have been my decision as to whether I anted to refund them or not?

Any comments would be really useful, if nothing else I will know how to respond when they finally get in touch.

    Many thanks

You're wrong. Any redress can first be used against any amounts outstanding owed by you.

After 18 months since being rejected by Barclaycard for mis-sold PPI today I received a cheque refunding all premiums & interest etc.

The payment took 12 weeks to the day after the FOS upheld in my favour and Barclaycard agreed to pay

Had the same with a Morgan Stanley complaint also rejected by Barclaycard and overturned by the FOS, again Barclays have agreed to refund all premiums so I just have another 10 weeks to wait for this payment, again its been 18 months or so since first starting the complaint with Barclaycard. :T
    UPHELD PPI COMPLAINTS:
A&L Loan X4, Tesco Loan, Natwest CC, MBNA CC X2, HALIFAX TMPP
    Rejected & with the FOS:
Morgan Stanley CC :(, Barclaycard CC :(
