PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

As has been mentioned, the only way this company is going to offer this £500 is if they look at the facts of your case and feel that it is an absolute watertight win. There is no way they are going to expose themselves to any real 'risk'. So, really, they are loaning you £500 of your own, inevitable, claim proceeds.
There is no such thing as a "watertight win", and no way this company has a crystal ball to predict the outcome of any claim.
My friend tried claiming by herself and lost after a year of waiting for the Ombudsman to decide her case. If she'd used these guys at least she would have a £500 cheque as consolation!0 -
My husband rang llyods bank the week before christmas to inquire about reclaiming ppi back on the loans he had had in the past and the took all the details over the phone and said it would take 6-8 weeks to look into it. We didnt have to fill in any paper work we made 1 phone call to them and the rang us once to confirm a few details and 8 weeks later we had a letter telling us we would recieve the ppi back a total of £3750. a week later the cheques arrived. it was so easy and so quick we should have done it sooner.:j0

More success to report:-
Barclays Bank , my OH has received letter today , complaint upheld , £2250 to be deducted from his loan balance and £612.00 interest cheque attached to letter!!!
I thought this was worth mentioning as I've read a few posts about people waiting ages simply for their cheques from Barclays , it seems that they are now sending the cheques with the offer letter ,or did at least in this case, whole process took 5 weeks.
Thanks again MSE:j
It's been another good week on the ppi front:-
HFC- complaint upheld loan from 2004 - £535
Capitol one credit card taken out in 2003- £77.71
Rang up welcome finance for an update, apparently. F&f response has been posted but they can't discuss it with me until I have received it? Feel my first rejection coming onoh well 4/5 ain't bad!,

I claimed (not through a claims co.) for mis sold PPI, claim was upheld and received 000's. However the policy was changed along the way as our mortgage changed, the bank are claiming that this was a new policy and therefore a new sale which they did properly, even though they paid out on the first part. As far as we were concerned we still had to have the policy and it was a continuation of the original policy, so it was all mis sold .... any advice on how to tackle the remainder of what we should get back?0

I hope you are not working for them?
And they charge the fee of 35% plus Vat on any reduction on a loan PPI that is still running and has to be reset, they win twice as this could mean you save 1000 on the loan reduction, only to pay them the fee for this as well as on the redress .
Excellent company !.

Hello
Encouraged by the many success stories on here I have taken steps to reclaim my PPI. I have had many loans and cards over the yrs, some which I definitely had ppi.
I have sent template letters and received a couple of replies from HAlifax and citifinancial. Now the problem is I have been under debt management for about 18 months. If I am successful, how does this work? Some of the lenders I still owe money to and am paying a minimum repayment. Would any money owed to me just be taken off the outstanding balance?
Anyone have any experience of this?
