Slightly worried now that its all a bit too easy?!... any advice/thoughts??

You've made your complaint. now you have to wait up to 8 weeks to see what the outcome is. If you're not happy with the outcome, or you can think of a better reason why you shouldn't have been sold it, you either ask them to re-investigate, or send your complaint to the FOS.
Have a read here [ and it doesn't matter it was over the phone, and yes, for some, it is that easy]

Hi could i ask how long your complaint took, i sent my form 16 march 2013 and just curious really how long i should anticipate the wait to be,
    many thanks

I sent my letter and documents via recorded delivery and was logged as received by Santander on 25 February 2013.

I received the settlement offer in writing Saturday just gone, so 30 March 2013, so almost five weeks (well within the eight weeks they have to respond).

Where does this leave you now? What is your next move, this is similar to my situation, except Barclays took all my infomation from my bank account, and applied for the card on my behalf, without my concent or knowledge. But tricked me to signing it. FOS are taking their side, as I can't proove it. They only looking at the signed agreement, but said I can take it to the ombudsman, as I have already had 2 assessments.

your guess is as good as mine, its with the FOS who are looking into this "new" information from barclaycard.
how one minute they cant even work out if its even my paperwork from what "proof" barclaycard have sent them,to now being able to send "new" information that you can zooooooooooom in so the letters are as big as
this just smells of dirty tricks to me. whatever happens will keep you updated. keep fighting, and good luck.

    • What were you reclaiming: Loan
    • Who was the provider: Natwest
    • How much did you get back: £2,115.32
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Natwest Invite
Hi guys, at the end of February I received a letter from Natwest detailing 3 loans I had previously with PPI. The latest 2 I took out PPI, however on the other I had no recollection, so I decided to question it.

On the 15th of March I had a response from RBS saying that they have no detail on how I was sold the PPI and as a gesture of good will offered me £2,115.32. I decided I would accept this as to be honest I wasnt expecting anything. I sent the letter back the 25th March and today received the money in to my Natwest current account. :j

Can’t believe how quick the process was from start to finish, and have now got the bite to claim back my PPI from AA and Intelligent Finance. Fingers crossed I have the some more good luck.
  • What were you reclaiming: Store card (Evans) PPI from 2003
    Who was the provider: Santander
How much did you get back: £1842.26
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: letter

Finally got my offer today! After numerous letters and having to get my National Insurance Contributions to prove I wasn't working at the time (took four weeks alone to get that info), finally had this letter today telling me the breakdown and that my cheque is on the way :)

Absolutely thrilled. Huge thanks to Martin Lewis and everyone on here, reading the success stories and the info/advice has given me the tools I need. Not only do I feel empowered to claim what I'm owed, but also feel more in control of my outgoings and my debts, paying more attention to what I pay and what I sign up for. All in all, very happy with this result.

Got two more pending, but this was my biggest so am over the moon.

    Thanks to all! :)
  • Needed to share my story...

Last month, Barclaycard wrote to me about an old credit card that I had with Goldfish - they took over their accounts and were aware that Goldfish may have been mis-selling PPI. The letter pointed me to a web form to fill in and it also stated it didn't matter if I didn't have any account numbers or anything because they would have all that information. So I thought I would give it a go, as at the time I didn't need it as I was covered elsewhere.

Here I am two weeks later with an offer of just over £2700! Not bad for next to no effort on my part.... Didn't even have to purchase a stamp!

  • I engaged a PPI claims company about 18 months ago and found myself calling them every few months to be told the same update story over and over again. I got fed up, and looked at doing it myself from the advice and templates from here.

After just 9 weeks, I have now recieved what I thought I was due in terms of refunded payments (around £4k) PLUS compensation and interest totalling another £4.5k.

Thanks you so much - it was simple and easy to do. DIY !!!

I hope you cancelled your contract with the claims company before doing this, otherwise you will soon find a bill for their "services" on your doormat.
