Barclaycard Reject
Hi, I wonder if anyone can help.
Hmmm...if you use the intetnet wayhback machine, you see that to have applied for it, you need to have applied in November 1997, by downloading and installing netscape software. Did you do this?
It's entirely possible it was pre-ticked, but you can't rely on that being the case.
The fact that you dson't remember signing it makes no odds either.
Can you show you had the means to pay the repayments if you were sick or that it wouldn't pay out if you needed it?
Again, as you yourself bought this, no-one sold it to you, it'll be difficult to say you were missold, but there's no harm sending it ot the Ombudsman. An initial assessment by them will either come back positive or negative and you'll be waiting maybe 6 months to see if Barclaycard will pay you rather than maybe lose and pay you and them too.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Wow! I am so pleased to report that I have just checked my bank account as it is pay day today. I was greeted with an extra £6,098 PPI repayment! I haven't received the letter to confirm how this is made up yet but I am over the moon as wasn't going to claim as it was so long ago. I don't even know the dates of the loans but they date back to around 1999 with the last one being 2003. I have no paperwork or even know the loan amounts. I could however remember the circumstances around the sales well. A simple phonecall to Lloyds to make my complaint followed by a telephone call from them around 10 days later to clarify. Three weeks to the day after that I have received the payout. Looking forward to receiving my letter to see how it has all been worked out.
I think it probably helps that I still bank with Lloyds so they had all the information there! I am so excited! Thank you to everybody on here, this money will give me back a bit of security as my savings had depleted in the past couple of years.0 -

It means that to have applied for it online, you needed to faff around with downloading and installing extra software. and unless you were a complete computer whizz then, or you knew what you were doing, either you didn't do this, or you can't say for certain that the software didn't part-populate boxes or something like that.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Hi Everyone
I have had a good look through the threads and many people have been successful it reclaiming money. I myself two years ago got £2500 back. However, some friends of mine are starting the process now and I think since the scandal has calmed down many lenders are trying it on again, and trying to push customers away etc. Has anyone recently experienced this?0 -
I have now had reply from CO-OP bank & they have refunded £90. Barclays have written & are offering £400. I am pleased & also at the quick responses.
I am waiting to hear from MBNA, Royal bank Of scotland & HFC.

Hi, So do you think there is any way forward with this, as i'm really not sure... they said it was an internet application, I cant even remember if i had a computer back then. Do you think as it states I want Ppi and I have signed the agreement, should I just accept the rejection?
Thanks Joanne0 -
I wouldnt. I'd be complaining on the basis that it required more computer knowledge as a consumer than I was likely to have, to both have installed this software and used it successfully, and that even if you had done the above, you couldn't say for sure that the boxes wouldn't have been part-populated.
And don't hold your breath......:)Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
