PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

whooo hooo finally got a result, after the email I was promised a resolution by 30th Nov, called today to be told they have upheld my complaint and were actually working on what I was owed manually (which i was told was more accurate) and if I called on Monday they should have an offer for me but I will have to wait for the letter to accept. Barclays letters are notorious for not arriving or taking weeks to arrive so won't hold my breath on a quick payout but am pleased that they have finally resolved the matter. good luck to all still waiting and thank you once again Martin you are a legend :money::money:
Can't believe it, just received a special delivery from Barclays offering over £6000 and £120 compensation for the delay...........result. :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
I will certainly never forget Friday, November 30, 2012!
My morning post contained a rejection letter from Lloyds TSB for a credit card PPI claim I had made - not the best start to the day
Arounnd 2 weeks earlier Lloyds TSB had also rejected me for five personal loans. In fury at the time, I had subsequently appealed (including emailing the CEO directly). This had been followed up with another phone call from Lloyds over a week ago to go over my details.
Out of curiosity I rang the Lloyds PPI helpline later in the morning to see if there was any update on my loans complaint. I was told my complaint had been upheld but there were no further details at this stage. Great I thought, at least I'll get something in several weeks/months!
Anyway, I went online later in the day to see if my wages had gone in this week. I almost fell over when I saw five deposits from Lloyds for the mis sold PPI on the loans totalling almost £13,000!!!!! :j I cried with joy, this is life changing for me.
Just goes to show, keep on at them.
Going to fight them all the way over my credit card claim now. My main reasons for complaint on loans were that I am a lifelong sufferer of psoriatic arthritis and it was also strongly impressed on me that PPI was necessary in my financial situation.
Good luck everyone - keep fighting and don't let them grind you down.0 -
Success for me with Natwest.
I had a lot of loans - circa £20k when paid off over a period of 10years.
3 of the loan accounts dated from 2005-2007, they rolled off the 1st one.
Anyway. i decided to try a PPI claim just last week.
Last night i recvd a letter offering me just under 2k for those 3 as they could not establish if i had been mis-sold or not. They didn't have the details they needed. It was a 'goodwill' gesture.
I await the other letter from the other department now for period 2000-2007. Should be interesting!
p.s i did it with the downloaded form off the Natwest website so no commission etc etc.0 -
Hi everyone.. am a newbie here and hope this is the right forum.
Reclaiming PPI from a loan.
Provider: Bank of Scotland
Offered : £11,700
How I applied : One phone call
I had a number of loans from Bank if Scotland and rang them 3 weeks ago to check if the loan had been repaid in full... and it had. I was delighted to be out of debt with them after what seemed a lifetime!!
As an afterthought , I enquired if I had ever paid PPI on the loan and they said I had. The result is that they have now offered me £11,700. The cheque has not arrived yet but should be here before Christmas!!!
It has prompted me to look through my finances and will be applying for any others I find. I did find one document from the HFC bank but it was paid off in 2001... and I'm confused about whether banks pay off anything that old or whether there is a 10 year cut off point.
Love this site and have shouted a hurrah for everyone I've read here who got their money back from the rich banks... thanks Martin and thanks also to everyone on here for being so supportive of one another.0 -
Reclaimed TSB Loan PPI
Big thanks to everyone who gives help and pointers on this site.
I banked with TSB for 24 years and have only ever twice had loans from other companies, Northern Rock and Household Bank.
Anyway, after eventually filling in the form and sending it off it took 2 months for TSB to offer me £12,143.60 then 8 days to put it in my account - Over the moon is an understatement! :j
Waiting for Household Bank (HSBC) to reply now
Didn't take PPI with NR

Came home today to find an envelope on the mat with an offer from HBOS for £720.00...
Funniest thing is when I did my complaint with nationwide (who are playing hardball! and disputing my front loaded loan was missold so thats now with the FOS.) they sent a copy of my original loan application back in 1998 which showed a list of the debts I would be consolidating. On the list was First Direct and Capital Bank (HBOS) so on 26th September I filled in two questionnaires for each company, no account numbers and not much else and sent them off.
First Direct wrote back asking for an account number - fair enough. Heard nothing else from the other one and kind of forgot about it until today so that was a lovely surprise.
I understand that mine was probably made easier as it was for a low amount and I was lucky that they still held the loan information after 16 years but its good to see some companies are still investigating these complaints regardless of the age of the loan.
Thanks MSE and all who give advice and assistance :beer:0 -
Hi all, :T :T
From 1st call to cheque in hand for 1000's owed from loans from 2001 to 2007 it has taken 9 weeks flat.
HBOS are well set up and hats off to the team. They sound like their in the Phillipines, not that that matters, the service was amazing and that is what matters.
Use of 3rd parties is a waste of money owed to you. If you want to waste your money once its back in your account you can invest in SayNoToYellowSnow.com - a venture that hopes to show 400% returns by advising people not to eat yellow snow... REALLY!
Pick up the phone and be prepared by following the advice on the this site. Then call, wait, progress with a second call and Ching Ching Ching bank the cheque/draft that arrives in the New Year and have a .
Be well as you don't need luck to make this happen..
(please scroll down)
What are you waiting for? ( Only for the call centre to open counts)
Go do NOW!!

Hi all, just a quick question, my wife realised she had been paying ppi on her CC for the last 8 years. We made a call to the bank last night to cancel and say that we had been missold the PPI and asked for a refund. The lady said she will pass on the details to the team dealing with this and they will be in touch in the next 7 days. So is this usually enough these days or do you actually have to write a letter as well?0

Depends on whether the woman on the phone did actually pass your complaint on.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

Ok let's assume she did (i guess we will find out for sure in a week or so).
What would be the banks (natwest) usual/standard next step? Do they ask for more details , send out forms etc ... We provided the cc number, this is still active and regularily used.
Additionally, if they upheld this, do they credit the cc account in question or do they send you a cheque to spend as you please?
Grateful for any answers. Best regards0
