:j:j:j:j Ab Fab :j:beer: just goes to show what can be done with the underwriter with a mis sell claim.Reclaim upheld by Underwriter/Genworth.
I would just like to confirm that in regards of a rejection from Santander via GE cap one, an account opened from 1997 until 2005, FLA also rejected, as their letter arrived today, and at the same time as Genworth Financial, who is the underwriter/insurer of GE Cap bank.
Very chuffed, and as this was not long rejected by Santander, it only taken a matter of a few weeks (2) with the underwriter.
Full refund with interest too.0 -
Hiya and thank you.:A
Aww so sorry to hear about the rejection, but a thought has come to me, maybe if I had complained back then, it would have been the same for me, so maybe now they realise they may still have some liability.
I now have a feeling that you will be successful now, especially now that they have started to accept and uphold.
Good luck.;)
Genworth are those of Financial insurance I believe ain't they?
I think I did come across another over on another forum and that wasn't long ago.
Fingers crossed.
Can I be so rude to ask about your settlement offer? Am keen to see how much the interest is working out at for such a long period. I had my card from 1997 to 2004

Include the 8% then it won't come back to bite you, I thought from your first post that you had an arrangement with Nram for this loan, if you have other creditors in a plan that includes Nram, you should contact whoever the plan is with and let them know about the win, you are correct in that you cannot favour one creditor over another so the whole win may go to the plan that you have.Dillydillon wrote: »Thanks for that bit of info, I've recently spoken to a family member who works for CAB, and he advises phoning NRAM when I've got the money to offer a pro-rata payment, which sounds good because as you know I'm not supposed to show favouritism to 1 creditor over another. Just a quick query tho, do I include the 8% simple interest into the 'pot' as such or is it just the refund. Thanks
See how Nram pay you the money first, they may send it to you direct as you requested, if they don't then take it from there.
Whatever happens, make sure that Nram take the whole PPI off the loan balance, this will reduce the debt to them and you will clear this sooner.0 -

Get in touch with them and see if they can find you, if they can then they will tell you what the insurance was for, you can then take it from there.0 -

Hi, it was not a vastly amount, but it was the principal of it, and they do pay Simple interest as well. £850 inc (total).;) Still am happy with that.:D:jSo touching £100 on the simple interest. From when it first applied to settlement of the account.
Even though it was taken out in 1997, at first there was no ppi, it appeared on statements a year or so later, which was why we made the complaint, as it was added out of the blue.
So as it will vary from one customer to another, as it will also depend on how long you were paying it for, in our case by April 2005 it was cleared.

That's great and it's definitely the principle so well done :beer:0 -
Cheers hun, the fact that you probably started paying ppi before me, you should be awarded a little more simple interest.julieprit2 wrote: »That's great and it's definitely the principle so well done
