  • Hi the story so far 2 upheld PPIs Lloyds TSB £4100 woo hoo lloyds Credit card £75.00 which I am taking to the ombudsman.

Secure homes not upheld, MBNA not upheld and finally Littlewoods Catalogue, this is the one I am fuming about and had a right go at the person that did not uphold the complaint. Catalogue taken out in 2002 not working at the time of taking this out PPI applied without knowledge, In 2005 they upgraded the account to extra care advantage without my say so they said they sent a letter through the post, I did not receive any letter and the debt with them has been sold on and ppi then cancelled I work for the public sector from 2005 so did not need it. Yes I know you will say did you not see statements with it on there but I did not know it was on there I was paying this for 6 years. The argument they are now using because they are fed up of paying out is PPI was not only for workers I could have used it if I had gone in hospital etc etc. I will get the dead money they had from me, i really will. Trying to find any excuse not to pay out now. The catalogue was sold over the phone, and in the letter they stated they had tried to contact me for more information could not get hold of me so carried on regardless.
  • Thank you -taff and dunstonh...I will make sure that she doesn't go ahead with her claim and as dunstonh suggests to write and keep a copy of that.

With regards to ppi claim for myself, I do not remember ever being informed of taking out extra insurance, but will do as -taff says and ring them to see.

Thanks, you've both been helpful :)

Egg have upheld my claim, woohoo!

Letter received today confirming £3.5k to be repaid. Herre's hoping for a quick turnaround with the cheque though I'm not holding my breath on that one.

Thank you Martin and everyone on this forum. Your encouragement was a huge help.

Hi could you tell me where you sent your complaint to as my egg card has now been taken over by Barclaycard so i wasn't sure who and where to complain to.
    Thanks.
  • Hi Guys,

So after posting a little while ago that my claim with Littlewoods Catalogue had been upheld, I am still waiting for the cheque!

After numerous calls between Littlewoods & Shop Direct it turns out my refund of the premiums have been refunded to my Littlewoods account.I haven't used the thing for the last 6 years!!

I spoke to Shop Direct today and they have assured me that all the money including interest will not be issued by Littlewoods but by Shop Direct!

    Confused!!!

They recon I should get the cheque within 7-10 days. We will see.:(
And as for BARCLAYCARD:mad: well they are a complete waste of time and i'm glad I don't Bank with them!!:D Stupid Re Work Queue!!:mad::mad::mad:

Shop direct sent my money to my old address that I haven't lived at for 4 years. Luckily I know the people who live there, they gave it to me...

  • Hi, Just got offered £5700.
Nat west - 2 x personal loans with missold PPI ...
    Wooppee ...

Also, I had a mortgage back in 1991 with payment protection that I was told I HAD to have. I know I was missold this but they have rejected my claim saying they no longer have any paperwork. It was an Abbey National Mortgage which I still have the account number for but no details of the PPI....
I know I paid it because it was 10% of the mortgage payment at the time!

Any idea's anyone? Or is it the Ombudsman for me?

Hi write back to Abbey, they said the same to me about my house of fraser account so I said ok well I have been told you have to have records of when you destroyed all paper work for a account and now they have found my details and having a look through to see if I was miss sold.

So worth a try :) have you not got any paper work at all?

I had loanguard on my RBS mortgage and made a quick phonecall to them to enquire. I thought I might have got about £600 back as I had cancelled it years ago however 6 weeks after the call, I got an offer for almost £1900.

Thanks all for your comments. I will let you know how I progress.

Another question; I had a mortgage with Northern Rock from 2006 until 2008 & after looking through the paperwork notice I had a Personal Protection plan & also on looking at a Barclaycard statement, I seem to have been paying something called a Payment Break plan, are either of these things PPI?

    Thanks
I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.
