Hi all,
I have 2 queries/issues. Firstly, Santander :mad: I have had an issue with them regarding 'Account Cover' on my store card. I thought it was purchase protection. It they are saying that it is purchase protection and unemployment etc cover in one! So, if I cancelled one, the other would be cancelled! Is that even allowed? They also say I agreed to it when I asked for the store card over the phone a. I did the application in store and b. they have no records of any of my calls any more!! Anyone else had this problem? Needless to say, that complaint has gone to the ombudsman. They are also doing the same with my DFS claim - they even sent me a copy of my agreement form that I signed (for the cover and for my direct debit) and THEY have pre- ticked the PPI box!! I never did because I tick like a 'tick' not a line that was computer generated!! :mad::mad::mad:. Can I still do anything about this? They are all lies!!PAD - Barclayloan - £3078.32/£3758.32

Following on from my last post - I am equally confused by Egg. I accepted my upheld amount 18 days working days ago. They were supposed to send me my cheque within 15 working days but it never came. I had letter off them yesterday offering me a different amount for the same card. Huh? So am I having 2 amounts? Am I waiting another 15 working days for a changed amount? I can't get hold of them to find out. So weird.PAD - Barclayloan - £3078.32/£3758.32

It was only £2 odd more. Every time I ring their number though I can never get through to a customer service adviser - it throws you off at some point. It's all very odd.PAD - Barclayloan - £3078.32/£3758.32

Arggghhh, typed a long response and then it didn't post :mad:
Quick update (again
)
Argos - phoned today to chase claim and they have upheld it and offer letter on the way (562.33)
Capital One - whenever I go through the automated system it says my account doesn't exist!!! Anyone got an email for Capital One as all other avenues of contact seem to be drawing a blank.
Egg - sent off acceptance forms (860.00) on 6th August for their '10 to 15 working days' payout - still waiting. Phoned last week and was told that the customer service lady would chase the cheque - phoned today and got the new 'unable to contact anyone live' spiel so I've fired off a heavily worded email and see where that gets me.
I know it's been said several times over but really, it is just the cost of a stamp and some time and great support from this forum. I've had two rejections (Evans Santander and Renault Finance) which I am appealing and will go to FO if needed - but the 2 settlements I've heard of so far have totalled nearly 1500 (my pound sign won't work on here for some reason) so well worth the effort.

Hi. Just to let you know I followed the guidelines & used the template letter for a loan & credit card ppi from around 1999/2000. I did not know the reference numbers however it was worth a stamp as Martin would say. I received cheques totalling around £2800 from both after around 8 weeks.
Thanks again & I remain debt free, with savings, from clearing my debts 28 months ago.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL:jDEBT FREE 27th MAY 2010:j

Contact FSCS and make the claim.
MONEYINEPTITUDE
:p:p:p WAS CORRECT :rotfl::rotfl:
Hi. update and another question im afraid. Done as you said and went to FSCS and they stated could not make a claim against moneypartners as there must have been another broker involved, and they have been advised claims cannot be made against moneypartners. After a lot of looking through the paperwork I find that the broker is written in small print at bottom of agreement and is Loanmakers Limited. Advised them of this and they said these are in default as well and will send form to complete. recd form yest, but on starting to complete it (which seems complicated as for this one mortgage we have 4 companies involved.moneypartners, loanmakers, sterling ins, and Kensington mortgages)I remember that we made a one month claim on the policy about 2+ years ago as my husband was off work sick for 6 weeks. Are we still going to be able to claim, as we are infact making the complaint as we were told we had to have it, it was front loaded onto our loan amount, and it only covered us for 5 years but paying for 25 years. Dont want to spend time completing if not covered. Thanks for your help.0 -
Hi All - Love this website and thanks for all your posts really helps!
Well I posted two loan ppi's (Forms from this site) to Santander on 13th September recorded delivery - checked Royal mail they had them on 14th September.
I haven't had any reply not even a standard letter to say looking at my claims.
Can anyone give me some guidance on this? Thanks.0 -
I took out an Egg Loan in 2003 and paid off a year later - the settlement amount was more than I expected and upon enquiry this turned out to be 'insurance' - after investigating I found they had charged me 5 years worth of PPI on a one year loan - to cut a long story short after investigating I found it was added due to a 'pre-ticked box' on the online application form - Egg wrote to me bang on the 8 week mark offering me settlement which I accepted - I successfully received a chq for £3818 although this took approx 4 weeks to arrive!
Reading others experiences on this site and the information gleened was invaluable - thanks0
