Hi Amersall, apoloiges about not coming back earlier,
I have been in london on business last 3 days,
Checked internet banking no number on old statements and account is now been deleted in old direct debits
I have called Santander and the chap was helpful but couldnt find the account number under my name asked me to send £1 and write to Archives on historic loans and they should hold info,.
Also called ICO and they advised to send their letter in their website to data protection manager as they should have info, and advised strongly to use their complaint letter if info wasnt supplied on return. again your advice would be much appreciated

    many thanks

    stevo

Hi stevo, the archived info costs £10, they will only come back with "need the account number" , you could try this and see what happens if you want, give as much info as you can regarding yourself and ask for all information that they hold on you and not just a specific transaction, I would send a letter, as the ICO suggests to the data protection manager and see if that helps.

Do you think we should bill ourselves as a double act?;):D

my husband got a settlement figure from citi financial in July 2012 we sent back the acceptance form on the 13th July for £3800 and were told in the letter the cheque would be sent out in 10-15 days. It is now nearly October and we still haven't recieved the money. We have emailed them at least 10 times and sent various recorded delivery letters to them asking where the cheque is. We have phoned the number quoted on the letter but can never get to speak to anyone who will help, we are now thinking of going to the omubudsman to see what they can do. has anyone else had this experience with citi or any of the other financial companies.

That is unacceptable, give FOS a call, you shouldn't have to chase them.

  • I have just received a letter from Black Horse offering me short of £1000 for missold PPI on a loan i took out 5 years ago. I can thank this website enough for all the information for me to claim back my money. I would encourage anyone to claim themselves. Its not as hard as i thought it was going to be. Thank you moneysavingexpert!!!

    Hi all
apologies if this is not the correct thread, but, need some advice....
In 1990 I had to take out a PPI with my mortgage (it was a condition of the mortgage offer so had no choice!)
Iam still paying this & wonder if I have any recourse for compensation?
    Thanks in advance
(If this is the wrong thread please feel free to point me to the correct one)

The banks were allowed to give you this as a condition but they were not allowed to say that it had to be their ppi. Lloyds Tsb paid me out and I had it from 1997 and had the paperwork work saying I had to take Lloyds Tsb mortgagesure as a condition of the mortgage. Hope this helps.
