  • I completed the template form from MSE to reclaim PPI from the Co-operative bank.

Within 10 days i received a reply saying they were looking into my claim, after a further 14 days i received a letter stating i would receive £3700.

If i had known it would be this easy i would have done it months ago. Anyone who is considering claiming but thinks it is a lot of hard work is isn't. The form is easy to complete and all its cost me is a 1st class stamp.:T

I have tried to get an answer from Lombard as to how they could come to a different decision on these claims but have ignored my letters to date. Any suggestions what I could do now as I suppose it their eyes I have accepted the payment but I am querying the process they have adopted to come to their decisions?
By accepting the offer, you have closed the complaint. Lombard are therefore under no obligation to respond to your concerns.
    It's too late for this.

You can go to FSCS to complain of any financial agreement where the originating company are no longer trading as long as it dates post January 2005.

Your best bet is to ring FSCS to be sure.

Or wait for Amersall to confirm this:p

    Now now :p;)

Sorry Amersall for taking a couple of days to get back to you. I have been looking at paperwork/agreement this morning as was going to be tel fscs later today but nowhere on there does it state that money parters loan ltd was covered by the fsa, even though taken out in april 2007? In fact the loan agreement has unregulated agreement in top corner. Does this mean i cannot go to fscs. The more i look at the ageement the more of a fool i feel for tqking it out., with them adding the whole amount ontobthe mort as a single premium and then only covering us for 5yrs anyway on a 25yr mortgafe.if i cant go to fscs is there anywhere else i could go. Thankyou

Contact FSCS and make the claim.

Hi, can I just ask when you made your claim? After a successful claim in May back to 2000 I put in a subsequent claim for older loans (mid 1990s) in mid July. It's been 10 weeks now, tried chasing it up a few times & they sent a copy of their original decision even though I sent proof & a letter of explanation.

I'd really appreciate some wise words of wisdom from you wonderful people :D

I've sent off my initial letter (loan finished in May 2007) and I've today received one back saying they can't progress my claim as they do not have the signed authority of the main policyholder. The want me to provide the signed authority, dated within the last 6 months.

Does anyone know what they want from me? lol I am wondering if, because it is a joint account, they want authority from my hubby. I can't remember if the loan was taken out in joint names or just mine, have no original paperwork (but I presume they do because I have a reference number and the loan amount appears on my statements from 2007).

Any advice would be very gratefully received. :o

Seems very likely, why not ring the Bank and ask them?

    Hi all
Just joined to tell you about my success.
Sent a letter to HSBC with little information regarding a loan account which had PPI added. Sent the letter in July and on wednesday i received a letter from them saying they would be upholding my complaint and their redress offer of £5,470.

Still waiting for their response regarding my credit card and also just sent letters to Halifax and Virgin for PPI insurance which i didn't even know i had on credit cards.

Thank you all, without seeing this on the forum i would have never even contemplated looking at sorting it out myself.

Following the above offer received from HSBC, yesterday i received another letter confirming they will be also upholding my complaint on my credit card for the sum of £632.57.

I am now over £6K better off thanks to this forum and advise.
