PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Thank you to MSE and posters on this board for your inspiration.
Posted the template to MBNA on 28 August, offer received on Sat 15 Sep and cheque arrived on Wednesday. Just over £1200 for credit card ppi dating back to mid 90s.
They calculated the premiums at slightly less than I made it but added more interest than I expected so more than happy with outcome and amazed by the speed.
Have posted forms to other providers so hoping for more good news to arrive soon
Good luck to everyone with their claims.0 -
i posted a few weeks ago about receiving a letter back from EGG Within a week of complaint and they were going to uphold my complaint. They said i would receive payment within 15 days .. so its 5days late and i am starting to get worried! I contacted barclaycard to see where it was but they could find no info on my situation!!0

Just thought I would tell you about our success!
Rang HSBC with very little info just previous account numbers and they were able to tell us we had paid PPI in the past. Filled out the questionaire sent it off. Have just received a letter offering £2,447.45 for a loan we had with them ages ago and £919.88 for mortgage ppi we had in about 2001. Unfortunately we are on a DMP and owe HSBC some money still so they are taking it off the amounts quoted, but we still come out with approx £2,700.
I know its not the massive amount some people have been offered but it will make a huge difference to us. We dont need to worry about the MOT or Christmas, plus we can pay some debt off .
My advice would be just go for it and do it yourself, you just never know :j
Hi I'm waiting for HSBC to hopefully pay up, can I ask how old your loans were?0 -
I've currently got 6 ppi claims going through, with various companies
Yesterday i received a letter from CT Capital (formerly Central Trust) upholding my complaint :j
In the letter it states that they are not upholding it because of the reason i gave, employment benefits that would have covered the payments etc, but because after listening to the recorded telephone conversations it was apparent that the advisor expressed benefits for a policy that i did not purchase and it was likely that i was not placed in an informed position.
Just got to wait for a breakdown and offer now.LBM 01/01/11
We WILL be debt free

Well finally I can stop stalking the postman for now......
Please let me share my overwhelming happiness and thanks to MSE :money: and all who sail in her ship
Today I have received my cheque's from FirstPlus for mis-sold ppi,
for a grand total of £19507.43!!!!!!:D
I am absolutely stunned and over the moon, for the first time in our adult lifes, going to work to earn some pennies will be worthwhile and we will be able to do more then just pay debts off.
I also received £95.00 from nationwide for mis sold ppi which I received last week.
Now just waiting on a reply from LloydsTSB, have now been waiting 11wks but am being very patient with this one.
Thankyou everyone, have been feeling so anxious but now feel like a massive weight has been lifted.:silenced:0 -
I've just received a letter from HFC offering me £2475 as a refund of my ppi. I am just still in shock after getting over 10k back from HSBC. This money will change my life completely. Still waiting to hear back from egg and cahoot so really hoping for more good news. When I started this process I was hoping for about £500....can't believe how much I've had back! :rotfl:0

Wow lemonade_lifestyle that is amazing.
I had another success this morning. A letter off MBNA just arrived upholding my complaint and awarding me £2651.
Both of my successes so far have been dealt with very quickly indeed.0 -

Here is a link to the FOS case studies:

my case has been upheld by Barclaycard on the back in August, I sent the acceptance form back to them and they confirmed that they had received this on the 6th August and I should receive monies within 21 working days, so I called back on the 4th September as I hadn't received them money at which point they told me it was 28 days, so then I called back and then they told me it would be the following week, the last and final time I will be called their PREMIUM RATE NUMBER was on the 17th September at which point they told me they have passed this onto their finance department to ask why it hasn't been paid and I have to call back to follow this up - I've now passed all this information onto the financial ombudsman - I can't believe that Barclays are treating people like this, if you have upheld a case just pay the money and move onto the next case, don't sit on it and gain MY INTEREST, I'm fuming0
