  • Do whatever you want.
There isn't even any guarantee your complaint will be upheld, of course.

That is correct. I just want a decision one way or another. That's all I am ringing them for....an update.....a decision one way or the other. :D
:wave:Hi I'm new to the forum. :hello: Please be gentle. :j

As does every other complainant, part of the reason why the Banks can't cope with an eight week timetable.

Really?? Am I holding up the banks decision making by speaking to a telephonist in Manila?? I think not.
Lloyds have dealt with many claims within the 8 week period according to people on here....so by asking for an update on the claim that is not the case.

They've also failed to deal with many as well.
There is a loooong thread on here about Lloyds being exceptionally tardy with paying their redress too.
So even if you get your response in the next two weeks, you've still likely got some ways to go.

Anyway, this is becoming like a chat forum...I'm off to bed...;)
  • Hi,

I am constantly reading this thread so thought it only fair to share my success.
I sent the questionnaire off to First Plus in August, within a week we had a letter saying they would respond by 26 September.
We then received a letter on 24 August (daughters birthday) to say complaint had been upheld and we were getting £3800 back. We had to sign an agreement and were told we would have cheque within 28 days. It turned up less than 3 weeks later.:j:j:j:j:j
The whole process took less than 5 weeks. Soooo easy.
We have loads of claims ongoing so its actually quite exciting waiting for the postman every morning.
We are in a DMP so any successful claims will go a long way to making us debt free but I expect we will get some money back ourselves as alot of our debts have been sold on.
I am led to believe that if a debt has been sold then the money has to come to us. Is this correct ??
  • I was just wondering if anyone has had experience of how long it will take for us to receive the payment into our acc, are we talking days from them receiving the detials, weeks or months?

I understand how you are feeling, I am now coming upto 14days since FirstPlus scanned all my paperwork into their system!
I have turned into the postmans worst nightmare, stalking him :D
I know it will arrive soon but I am so exciting for becoming debt free that i cant help but plan my morning around the postman arriving !!!
    :silenced:
  • I am thrilled that I am joining the list of successes!!

Sent of my downloaded letter to First Direct. Received initial letter saying they would look into my complaint and three weeks later - result! I was expecting about £700 but have received twice as much so very happy and very satisfied with the response from First Direct.
