Pre-ticked boxes were a feature only of (some) online applications. Postal ones had to be ticked, I'm afraid.Sweatpea67 wrote: »The application was a postal one in 1997, where I understand they were possibly pre-ticked boxes -0 -
I'm so pleased for you. All the best and enjoy!gramochroi wrote: »Thank you so much on his behalf in particular to Money, Amersall, Di and Dolphin, you are each worth your weight in gold!!0 -
If this is the case, why invite others to send you the CEO's E-Mail address by private message?little_diamond wrote: ». I am well aware of what I have to do and when. .
I do agree your "problem" dwindles into insignificance compared with the poster who has patiently waited for more than six months for their "full and final".0 -
Coming back down to earth from my ex's win, I have been quite down for the last week or so re my own claim to HSBC. Fought it for months and their final response was that they had paid back more in insurance than I had paid in.
I know I claimed on one of the loans when I was made redundant, but thought they would pay out on the ones preceding this. Also, they had told me they would make an estimate on redress due going back to the start of my account (about 1984) but only went back to the opening of my Flexiloan account in 1995. I know I had loans before then and it was at that time they insisted all loans be taken from the new Flexiloan account.
I don't know if I have anywhere to go with this one, haven't had the energy to revisit it yet? Any suggestions/advice??
Many thanks as always.0 -
I'm afraid that FOS would likely side with the Bank in this circumstance. You want redress dating back to 1984 even though you've actually claimed on the insurance?gramochroi wrote: »their final response was that they had paid back more in insurance than I had paid in.
Of course, FOS is now your only and final option

Yes, I understand what you're saying, I just thought each loan would be dealt with separately. Might give FOS a ring, but this is probably dead now, oh, well, all a learning curve I suppose.
On the plus side, still celebrating for my ex, he could do with the windfall!!!0 -

Do you feel better now you have had a go at me??
No need to be nasty!!
If you re-read mine, I said I would like it sent by pm it so I had it ready for when I needed it. So yes I invited someone to pm me the CEO email address for which was obviously after the 16 weeks period had past....
I was told today that they would be in breach if it went past the 16 weeks, which (he said) they wouldn't want. So what would you want me to do?? Wait patiently forever for a decision??
Yes, I still have 2 weeks more to go, for goodness sake I haven't had a decision yet.....which is the story of my life....nothing has ever come easy, and I have had to fight for everything always. Do you want to take this away from me??
Yes, mine dwindles into significance compared to the other poster, (who said before that they were told it had been upheld and sent to be calculated), but I do not want to find myself in the same position and at the same timescale. I am sure they didn't want to either, hence why I suggested the CEO route, which has helped others. If it offended you that I did that or that I asked for the CEO email address too early, then I am very sorry.:wave:Hi I'm new to the forum. :hello: Please be gentle. :j0 -
Not at all.little_diamond wrote: »So what would you want me to do?? Wait patiently forever for a decision??
You've already said the Bank have kept you informed by letter of the expected delay to a decision on your complaint. You've also said that you have telephoned them regularly despite this.
You really can't "jump the queue" and, as long as the Bank continues to inform you of any developments, you really can't have any extra complaint (or hurry them up).
You even acknowledge that others have far more pressing reasons to (perhaps) approach the CEO.
Please leave the CEO route for complainants who have a genuine grievance that cannot be easily sorted some other way, otherwise the Banks will simply remove this option from everyone.
MSE has already been forced (at the behest of the Banks, I suspect) to delete these E-Mail addresses if anyone posts them on the public forum.
As for being "nasty" , that was never the case.:p0 -

Goodness me, get off your high horse, I made an apology if I offended you!!
The letter said they would need up to an extra 8 weeks. And why is there a problem for ringing them for an update in just the last few weeks seeing as that is all I am ringing them for....an update? Other people have rung them regularly too, and been told the decision before their letter arrives. So what is wrong with that? I am only asking for an update? Not trying to jump the queue....I am just asking for an update like many others do, and freely say so on here.
All I worry about is whether the final decision comes within the 2 week period now because it is hanging on much longer than many others.
The bank is not continuing to keep me informed of any developments....I am ringing them to see if there is any developments. Most people have heard one way or another by now!!
If I don't get a decision within the 16 week period then I WILL be going down the CEO route AFTER this because I WILL have a genuine reason for doing so. I don't give in easily I am afraid....
Please re-read everything you have written to me and you will see you have a tendency to be nasty....sorry, but there it is....not just to me either. Perhaps the sarcasm makes it sound worse....:wave:Hi I'm new to the forum. :hello: Please be gentle. :j0 -

There isn't even any guarantee your complaint will be upheld, of course.0
