I posted the other day saying I've had a rejection letter from Lloyds. I had sickness cover & a redundancy with the employer I was with at the time. I still know tthese employers, although they have now sold the company I worked for at the time. If they write something confirming the benefits they offered, will that be enough 'further evidence' for Lloyds to look at my case again? I've read all of this thread, and am disheartened to see that several people who have been rejected by lloyds have also been told by them they they now have to go the FOS and not submit any further evidence.
Can I also ask to see Lloyds 'internal sales notes'? Or is it too late for that?
Any advice welcomed at this point! Thanks :)
You can request the internal notes then I would send this to FOS, looks like Lloyds are playing hard ball.

What were you reclaiming: Loan which had been consolidated 3 times and perhaps PPI on a credit card. A bit unclear about exact split of PPI and interest and whether the money that we received included our claim on our credit card too. As the money has gone straight into my husbands account and we haven't received a letter yet.
Who was the provider: Lloyds TSB
How much did you get back: Over £13,500 which we hadn't calculated, we worked out from what we knew that it would be at least £7500. But he did consolidate his loan 3 times and there is the interest on top of that too, so really surprised especially since the money has gone to my husband's account before he has received any confirmation in writing.
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: We wrote a covering letter which was a sample from this website and sent that in with the PPI claim form, with a claim for mis selling because it was a single premium policy. After 4 received a standard letter saying they had received the complaint and they were looking into it. After 9 weeks a further letter saying that due to high numbers of claims at the moment, it may take upto 16 weeks to hear back from at most. At 13 and half weeks the money has gone into my husbands account, but have received no letter from the bank yet. Hopefully we will over the next few days. Really happy and now we may be able to move house. 14 weeks ago I sent HSBC a SAR request and i still haven't received received anything back from them. i have phoned twice and have been assured that they are getting the information which I have asked for. But yet still nothing. I'm just wondering whether to just forget about the SAR and complete the claim form which I printed off this website. My local branch confirmed that I had paid PPI on 7 consolidated loans. I never I even consolidated my loan that many times let alone having had PPI on them. Do you think this is the way forward?

They have 40 days to get the info to you, if you have the account numbers and reasons for mis sell then put the claim in.

Hi, just waiting for reply back from Barclays. Week 6 now, and have had no correspondence since questionnaires where returned. Had not read this forum when filled in form, and am now concerned that I did not support my application enough. I am a public sector worker and basically ppi would of been worthless as would of received sick pay. Put this in my form, but concerned not enough. Any success stories out there who had a similar complaint
    Thanks
Call them and ask if they got the complaint, give them the info if they will take it, see what they say.

Hi, we have just had a letter back to say our Lloyds TSB Loan PPI claim will not be upheld due to lack of evidence. We have claimed on the basis that the advisor did not go into detail about the ppi and my partner (whose claim/loan it is) would have received full sickness pay from work for 6mths and redundancy if it had occured. What evidence can we submit to back this up? Would a copy of his contract at the time be sufficent?

That will be fine, if I were you, I would also send this to FOS, Lloyds are not playing fair and all you will do is waste time.

    Hi all

Haven't been around lately, as school holiday's and kids need entertaining. Back in June I had my PPI compaint for Lloyds credit card's rejected and the standard letter sent asking for any further information as apparently they tried to ring me twice, but got no answer!

I sent a letter back with a bit more evidence but nothing to make me think they will change my mind.

However, I had a 'light bulb' moment last week and realised I had a medical condition (it does go back to 1990 so was a while back). I rung my Dr's to get the dates of when I was diagnosed which was 5 months before I applied for my credit card and then 3 years later with my condition not improving and getting worse I had a 4 hour operation and 5 weeks convalesing at home.

I now realise that 1) I was not asked about any pre existing conditions when I applied for my cc (I was 19 at the time) and the insurance would not have paid out when I required it at the time of my op.

I have rung Lloyds and spoke to Manilla people (arrgghh!) and thought best to email the PPI customer relations team with my new evidence.

What do you think are my chances of it now being upheld? Is a pre existing medical condition reason being successful?

Thanks if you have lasted this long on my post :D

Give them 2 weeks and if you get no response, take this to FOS, enclose proof of pre existing.
  • I would just like to thank all the nice, helpful people on the moneysavingexpert website for their PPI advice.

I have just received my second ppi win - £1813.85 from Tesco on a loan taken out in 2001 and paid off early in 2003. It just shows you that this can be done without the help of these PPI claims companies. My Tesco loan was taken out 11 years ago and paid off 9 years ago and still they paid out (I originally requested the credit agreement which they sent me quickly without a problem) and that's all I provided (along with the questionnaire). It did take about 9 weeks for them to come back with an offer and the cheque will probably take forever to come through, but at least I know it's on its way.

My first PPI claim was for another 'old' loan from EGG which was upheld last month for £2341. I received the cheque for that one after about 3 weeks.

I am so happy and so grateful to you all. Thanks again! :j

    Hi all
We have followed all the advice by the letter however LLoyds tsb have come back to my Husband and me seperately although only i claimed for a PPI reclaim. They have stated that my husband never had PPI however they have stated i did pay PPI but i ticked a box on several consent to cover forms requesting the PPI even though i refute their claims as i have never wanted/requested or knowingly ticked any boxes , i called LLoyds TSB stating to this effect after their correspondence and all i was told was appeal to the ombudsman even though the letter stated contact us if you do not agree with the decision ! I am fuming as there is no way i would tick any box requesting this, they also stated that i would have received verbal instruction to this end - total nonsense ,never did any salesman/woman sell me these loans mentioning PPI !! Please advise what i should do next , do i go to the ombudsman ?

Your help/advice is greatly appreciated - one very very angry LLoyds tsb customer. Please Please can anyone help ?

Send this to FOS, let them know you did not need this PPI , eg sick benefits, life insurance and if you could pay this card should the worst happen.

    .

I got impatient as it's been going on since April and emailed the CEO on Thursday. Got an email back from a member of staff of customer services ppi relations. They were sorry to hear about my concerns and lack of support from staff on the phone (Manilla!) and have spoken to the review team and will get back to me in 10 days.

It may still be a rejection but at least it has speeded up the process!
