Ok folks i got my first response from Ulster bank . I lodged my complaint exactly a week today . I had a £2000 loan out with them back in 2007 . I received a letter saying they are dealing with my complaint and it could take 8 weeks.. fingers crossed!!!!!
  • I posted the other day saying I've had a rejection letter from Lloyds. I had sickness cover & a redundancy with the employer I was with at the time. I still know tthese employers, although they have now sold the company I worked for at the time. If they write something confirming the benefits they offered, will that be enough 'further evidence' for Lloyds to look at my case again? I've read all of this thread, and am disheartened to see that several people who have been rejected by lloyds have also been told by them they they now have to go the FOS and not submit any further evidence.
Can I also ask to see Lloyds 'internal sales notes'? Or is it too late for that?
Any advice welcomed at this point! Thanks :)

HI, thanks for replying - I can assure you that I have absolutely no intention of going through these people, was just curious of how they get to the figure, fact or fiction !?
If any money is due to me, I want it all !!!
Thanks for the advise though :-)

"Having computed your banking details Sir I can actually confirm that you are owed £4,543. "

How can I do this by only knowing your handle on here?

Well what I did was an IP trace, then I got your name through whois.com from that I then accessed your accounts through the non existent central storage data protection module housed in a basement in Leeds. It was then a smiple matter of plucking a random amount that sounds good from the air.
Of course it is pure nonsense, why not just pick a number at random and text your mate the above. It is all they are doing. Well done for doing it yourself. :)

I get the same text messages two or three times a day. The trick is to delete the message without even replying with the STOP option. If you respond in any way they know that your number is functioning, if you don't they usually leave you alone.

Yes, you need to get it right first time I'm afraid. I think you need significant new information to "appeal" a full and final response from the Bank.
Do remember that hearsay arguments lose unless you have full evidence or other more compelling reasons as well. Do not discount FOS, however.

After yesterdays rant about lloyds taking no notice of further information, and other posters saying the same thing had happened to them, I was amazed when the missus was rung by lloyds this morning.

So after the lady on the phone yesterday told me "we will not be looking at further information" Go to FOS.

We have, for the first time , talked to someone from lloyds.

Not sure if this is a good sign but at least it proves that if you write back to lloyds after a rejection you will be considered

It also says the left hand dont know what the right hand is doing!!

What were you reclaiming: Loan which had been consolidated 3 times and perhaps PPI on a credit card. A bit unclear about exact split of PPI and interest and whether the money that we received included our claim on our credit card too. As the money has gone straight into my husbands account and we haven't received a letter yet.
Who was the provider: Lloyds TSB
How much did you get back: Over £13,500 which we hadn't calculated, we worked out from what we knew that it would be at least £7500. But he did consolidate his loan 3 times and there is the interest on top of that too, so really surprised especially since the money has gone to my husband's account before he has received any confirmation in writing.
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: We wrote a covering letter which was a sample from this website and sent that in with the PPI claim form, with a claim for mis selling because it was a single premium policy. After 4 received a standard letter saying they had received the complaint and they were looking into it. After 9 weeks a further letter saying that due to high numbers of claims at the moment, it may take upto 16 weeks to hear back from at most. At 13 and half weeks the money has gone into my husbands account, but have received no letter from the bank yet. Hopefully we will over the next few days. Really happy and now we may be able to move house. 14 weeks ago I sent HSBC a SAR request and i still haven't received received anything back from them. i have phoned twice and have been assured that they are getting the information which I have asked for. But yet still nothing. I'm just wondering whether to just forget about the SAR and complete the claim form which I printed off this website. My local branch confirmed that I had paid PPI on 7 consolidated loans. I never I even consolidated my loan that many times let alone having had PPI on them. Do you think this is the way forward?
  • Succesfull and easy payout of £2496 from halifax for a loan and credit card, received a reply in a few days then got a letter saying what i was getting back via cheque.
Also sent ppi claim to littlewoods and they are investigating it but ive had ppi on that account for over 8 years.
Also tried my luck with dorothy perkins and failed, had ppi on that account since 1995 and they said im not entitled to my money back, i completed the forms in store when i was 18 so i didnt have a clue back then and basicaly its my word against the woman in store who filled out the form,i just signed. They said ive had numerous chances to cancel over the years and i didnt cancel so its my fault. The reply from them was a 2.5 page epic with a copy of my original form application.

Going to fight this on principal with the ombudsman, the store card was basicaly thrown at me in a busy store when i was 18 and i was told just take the card to get the instore discount, which is fantastic when your a skint student earning peanuts.

Has anybody claimed succesfuly from dorothy perkins store card??

Who was the provider: Alliance & Leicester
How much did I get back: Asked for £1,200 recieved £2,600 (no idea why but Im not complaining)
Got it back after 1 letter, took 3 weeks.

What was I claiming: Credit Card PPI
    Who was the provider: MBNA
How much did I get back: Asked for £103.00 got back £499.
After sending SAR found Id apparently paid 3 PPI payments at the start of the credit card going way back. My agreement clearly stated that I didnt want PPI so I sent it to them and they paid out.
    Thank you MSE
    :T

What was I claiming: PPI on a Home improvement loan
    Who was the provider: Halifax
How much did I get back: NOTHING so far after sending SAR, Request for refund & LBA!! Shall take to Ombudsmen.

What was I claiming: Mortgage PPI
Who was the provider: Halifax TMPP
How much did I get back: Nothing, flatly refused any mis-sale despite having no financial need for it. Not only did I recieve 6 months with work etc I was also in receipt of a monthly widows pension double what my mortgage was so I could pay my mortgage if I was off sick. Was told I had to have it regardless of having no financial need for it. Again theyve refused a mis-sale. Off to Ombudsmen.

    :(
