We've had another complaint upheld today, this time from HFC Bank for personal loan. Offer of £561 received.

    So to date that's

    Abbey Credit Card £839
    Burton store card £413
    HFC Bank £561

All we did was complete a questionnaire for each complaint and send an accompanying letter using a template we found elsewhere online.

Update- an offer of £611 received today from EGG for an old CC account.

Well after 11 weeks we have had success with Lloyds :j Cannot believe we have had an offer of in excess of £10,000:rotfl: no more stalking Mr postman!! A massive thanks you to Amersall & co as without the single premium advice it may never have been upheld so thank you again this will make such a huge difference to us  Without the advice on here I would have used a claims company so my advice to anyone is do it yourself, for the sake of a few hours of your time and a few stamps you could be a lot better off. :j:j

Have today received our cheque for £10.145 was surprised it turned up so quick as only 3 days after our offer letter. :j:j
Many thanks again to this website for all the advice couldn't have done it without you :beer:

Wow! That's fabulous and very encouraging too. I have just submitted a claim to RBS for single premium PPI on a loan that has been consolidated a further 5 times, so to hear a success story like yours give me some hope!!

    Well done! :T

    Hi all
We have followed all the advice by the letter however LLoyds tsb have come back to my Husband and me seperately although only i claimed for a PPI reclaim. They have stated that my husband never had PPI however they have stated i did pay PPI but i ticked a box on several consent to cover forms requesting the PPI even though i refute their claims as i have never wanted/requested or knowingly ticked any boxes , i called LLoyds TSB stating to this effect after their correspondence and all i was told was appeal to the ombudsman even though the letter stated contact us if you do not agree with the decision ! I am fuming as there is no way i would tick any box requesting this, they also stated that i would have received verbal instruction to this end - total nonsense ,never did any salesman/woman sell me these loans mentioning PPI !! Please advise what i should do next , do i go to the ombudsman ?

Your help/advice is greatly appreciated - one very very angry LLoyds tsb customer. Please Please can anyone help ?

Was only reading the success stories on here that got me started and am now almost £17,000 better off. Good luck with your claim :)
  • Found some paperwork from an old Natwest loan I had six years ago and noticed it included PPI. Someone at work had mentioned they had applied so I figured no harm trying. I worked out that the full amount would be about 800 quid but because I had paid it off early and received the unused portion back I would be due about £200. I downloaded the letter from here and sent it off to Natwest. I got a reply saying they were investigating. I then forgot about it.

This morning I got a letter saying they had investigated it and as it had been a consolidation loan (cant remember) they had to investigate the other loans in the chain also. They were therefore offering me, as a 'goodwill gesture', three sums totalling £4800! What a result! totally unexpected and well worth an hours work an da first class stamp! Thanks to this site!

I had exactly the same response.
I called to check they had received my letter asking them to look again with what i thought was compelling evidence only to be told, "If your not happy go to the FOS.
The lady on the phone said "if you have been rejected you have the right to go to the FOS we will not re-examine your claim.
What is the point of banks asking you for further information when they will not examine it.

The lady also said that they do not inform you they have rejected your new evidence. So your 6 months with the FOS is ticking away.

Seems all the advice on here asking banks to re-examine evidence is a waste of time.
If you are rejected go to FOS dont waste time asking them to look again

Just to clarify, at no time was i asked what my reasons for asking them to look again were.
If you are rejected 1st time expect to have to go to FOS.
If anyone has had any success asking lloyds to look again please share them with us.
I suspect they are few and far between.

Yes, you need to get it right first time I'm afraid. I think you need significant new information to "appeal" a full and final response from the Bank.
Do remember that hearsay arguments lose unless you have full evidence or other more compelling reasons as well. Do not discount FOS, however.

    Hi guys,

Another letter received from MBNA re one of my claims.

They have held their hands up again, and a cheque for the sum of £2500ish is on its way to me :D

So far, I have been refunded around £4200, and all because of the advice given on this site, for that, I thank you guys :D

Ps, it is quite ironic, that the refunds will be used to pay of cc debts accrued when I was married to a sponge :D
    Life is now good :)

Same here ask for further evidence then when you call are told to contact FOS I feel the same as you they say they have sales notes regarding the sale of my PPI and I would find it hard to believe that any seller would note that they had pressured someone into taking PPI. They are well aware of pressure selling which is why they have got themselves into this mess in the first place. It would not be so bad if the customer service was consistent we were all able to speak to people that could actually help us. I resorted to e-mail but as off nearly 2 weeks they have not even acknowledged reciept as requested.
