Phoned up Barclaycard as like everyone else hadn't heard a thing from them, was expecting them to say claim hasn't been upheld BUT was pleased to hear that she said a letter had been sent out on the 20th saying my claim has been upheld for £700 approx which i am happy with. She is sending out another letter as i need to send back acceptance form or something.
So out of my claims: 2 have been upheld, 1 not and just waiting on hubbys one on a card.0 -
Hi, when I sold my flat, Welcome took everything, I was using CAB at the time and have been advised that as they took copys of everything at the time this should also be in the archive (fingers crossed), unfortunatly i did not keep any paperwork.
I will be calling welcome in the morning and letting them know i am not accepting there offer and then off to CAB first thing.
I have a few questions though,
my mum has had ppi claims refunded and they did try and off set her payments but she got all of her ppi back to her
as she was advised by CAB that mis-selling is technically fraud by false misrepresentation (section 2, fraud act 2006) and any premiums paid are technically classed as stolen property. the law is very clear that the ownership of any stolen property remains vested in its original and legitimate owner.
would you know if this is correct, also my loan was 2002 and when i called about ppi, FSCS told me they could not deal with claim as it was pre 2005 and I would have to deal with Welcome directly, that is what i have done so why is my decision letter telling me my claim has been based on fscs rules.
sorry, I'm really confused
all i know is i thought my loan was paid off, i only ever had one loan and i have 2 ppis on this form.
There is no way i will basically be paying 30.000 back for a 7500.00 loan, when they left me with nothing and in financial hell the first time around
Any way i will be calling welcome in the morning and off to CAB, to see where I stand, i will let u know how I get on
Thanks again
:mad::(
Hi I have called welcome and been advised that apparently i took out a new loan in 2005 and that is why fscs can offset my payments. Although when I CALLED FSCS THEY TOLD ME AT THE TIME THEY COULD NOT DEAL WITH MY CLAIM AS IT WAS PRE 2005, now suddenly I have a loan then???????????
i definatly never took out a loan in 05, that much I am sure iof and am requesting a SAR.
what i dont understand is when i called tha branch that dealt with me, theis loan is not at any address i have lived at and if i have 15.000 of debt with them, why have i not been notified of arrears.
they said they had tried but could not trace me which is a load of rubbish, I have been registered on the voters roll and other people i owed money to contacted me and I paid them off.
unfortunatly my girls are sick 2day so cant get to CAB
The FSCS are also not sure why they have not chased me for this debt either.
I have to laugh or I will cry, how the hell could I have taken out a new loan in the greenock branch in 05 when I lived in DUMFRIES at the time, I am pretty sure i WOULD REMEMBER
TRAVELLING MILES TO TAKE OUT A NEW LOAN??????????
also apparently I received 2000 rebate on old ppi when I took out new loan, which i def did not! I will be going into BOS to access statements of accounts I used at the time to prove this as well
has anyone else experienced this0 -
Hi, just rec'd my final response letter which is great news. Part of the letter reads as follows:
If you have a current balance an element of this may relate to PPI premiums and interest you have already been charged. To ensure this is removed from your card all or part of you redress payment should be used to repay this amountIf you chose not to apply any of the redress payment to your card please be aware interest will continue to be charged on any remaining balance.
Does this mean I have a choice0 -
Success :-)
A nice cheque for £3848.66 arrived today from nationwide from a loan I took out in march 2002.
Hassle free all I did was request my statements sent off £10 and then an application for the ppi
Took about 10 weeks from start to finish
I had another claim refused. It that's been forwarded to the fsa to review so cost me £40 plus the cost of several stamps to put in a total of 9 requests for ppi mis selling (3 accounts never had and also unfair charges of which I have some applications still being processed and egg sending me around £150 very soon
Well worth doing and I wish I did it last year as most of my charges just fell out the six year window (but I applied anyhoos in case they were being generous)
Happy bunny here thanks mse for the tips and templates!!0 -
The current balance outstanding is £3,487,49 which is paid monthly via CCCS to NCO (who have bought the debt from Egg).
So I am still confused as to why Egg are only taking £404.92. (Sorry, anything to do with figures leaves me quivering in a pool of fear
Did they send you the new loan balance? you need to make sure that they have taken the whole PPI amount from this loan.
It is possible that the £404.42 is the interest on the PPI that the loan reduced by but you did not pay as the loan was settled early in consolidation, this will account for the rebate of PPI that they gave you previously.0 -

If they paid it immediately or even a couple of days after - I'd have the money by now. Any clue what might be holding them up? Should I contact them? My bank account is with them and they're doing a straight transfer rather than sending a cheque.
Are banks known for holding back payments?
Thanks in advance. :-)0 -
Every time I came to this site Martin was insisting that we all claimed back ppi, Eventually I could stand it no longer, so I rang LLoydstsb Expecting to be stonewalled, but no. I was put through to someone who gave me all the info i needed. 4 weeks later and hayho £16,000 better off. A BIG thank you to Martin and the team. You are def on my Christmas card list
Fantastic!! :money: I rang Lloyds TSB 2 weeks ago tomorrow and spoke to a nice chap who gave me all the policy numbers I needed and the number I needed to call. I received the letter a week later informing me that they would look into my complaint and i should hear something within the 8 week slot. Just hope I get the fast service You received. Well done and enjoy! :T:beer:0 -
Hi, I rang Vanquis today as I had not heard anything from them since my letter 4 weeks ago and I spoke to an awful mannered young man  who told me that my claim (for ROP late payment fees and interest charges) was going to be unsuccesful as they do not offer PPI , when I said I knew my claim was for the ROP and charges and not PPI he said that basically It will go no further and that a letter had been sent to state this- I haven't recieved it yet - has anyone had any experiences like this with Vanquis?0
