hi all. just to let you know after the normal 8 week wait for reply from lloyds t.s.b over p.p.i on my old credit cards and loans, they have decided to give me £1625 "good will gesture" payout on a closed account they have no info on. why cant others be so easy to work with.
23 weeks now being messed about with a barclaycard claim....total joke. had to fos that one. happy days anyway. good luck to all with your claims. well worth the cost of a first class stamp. :-)0 -
Hello
I posted yesterday about the tiny amount that Nationwide have offered me as a payment. £406 for 8 years of ppi on a credit card. Well I decided to have a look back through my statements to see if their adding up was right. Funnily enough a couple of months ago my statement archive went back to 2004 and I could view all of them. However when I had a look this morning I can no only see as far back as mid 2008 and I cancelled the ppi in mid 2009. In a year they charged me over £250 in PPi so I feel their £406 is an attempt to fob me off!! Can I write to them and ask for a copy of all my credit card statements? will they give them to me or charge me for them? I want to be well informed before I go to the ombudsman.
frustrated doesn't cover it!! :mad:0 -

i have 2 claims pre 1997 in with lloyds at present am i right in thinking these may have had single premium ppi and if they uphold the complaints are the payouts around £1200 per claim.
also is there interest in that payment
many thanks
Let me know what they do x.0 -
Confused_cate wrote: »Hi All,
Its my first time on here, I'm looking for some advice really. I have claimed PPi from my credit card held with nationwide. I had paid ppi from 2002 - 2009. I did not tick the box on the credit card agreement. They have agreed I have a case and have offered me £406.16, which I feel is a bit pants if i'm honest. They have said that interest will be paid, but no mention of compensation and also no mention of how much interest. I feel they are trying to fob me off if I am honest. Can I refuse and take it to the ombudsman?
Thanks Cate0 -

Had a letter rejecting my claim they said that the issue of PPi would have been discussed when card taken out (not to my recollection, as i went to bank on receipt of first bill asking what additional payment was for!!!!). In addition they said that on 4th March 2004 (approx month after i took card), i agreed to PPi on the phone. I have no recolletion of this call but find it strange because i dont likr agreeing to anything over the phone i prefer face to face meets.
Is it worth forwarding to Ombudsman as it seems its the word of the bank against me. Anyone else experienced similar and how did you progress.
Very confused and unsure
thanks

hi there - i have been made an offer by HSBC on PPI mis sold on a Graduate Loan. thanks to all for the help on this site
What's the best way to check that the offer they have made is correct? I just want to make sure, having come this far, that it is what I should be paid.
I have been offered £1461.49 (ppi repayment) £891.51 interest = £2353.00. The PPI was front loaded on a loan taken out in July 2002, and paid off in full in October 2007. Am I correct in thinking it is 8% from the beginning of the life of the loan?0 -
Hi Everyone
Just to let you all know that I have just received my cheque for £10,244.25 today, although it was dated Monday 25th June.....who the hell do they use to deliver their letters .."Postman Pat "
Anyway all in all,it has taken 10 weeks from start to finish.
Now i'm off to the bank,to wait a further 5 days for it to clear !!
Be strong everyone..this was a loan I took out in 1998.
Hang in there ..it seems forever but once you get that cheque in your hand all of the anxiety of the past months fade away:j
Again thanks to everyone :beer:0 -
If there is no proof on your side or theirs, they could uphold but pay you nothing as they have no proof PPI was paid, they could on the other hand offer you a goodwill gesture, this could be the 1200 that you say, as they have no evidence of PPI then there is no interest payable to you on this.
Let me know what they do x.
thanks amersall i understand where u are coming from but we put in a SAR to them asking for a list of loans that had ppi on them although we did not get a SAR as such because they returned our £10 cheque they do us a list from some sort of records they keep which was more conclusive than the one we got from our branch.
so thanks again we sit and wait till mid august0 -
