  • I recently contacted HSBC regarding two mis-sold PPI claims on personal loans. They very generously contacted me to to tell me I actually had 6 loans in total containing PPI - so I thanked them very much and completed a further 4 claims.

Today I received a offer from them upholding my claim on all 6 loans. Offering me £3,200. A very brief breakdown containing the following for each one
    PPI Premium Redress;
    Plus taxable interest at 8%

I was wondering if I am entitled to anything else - I never actually completed any of the loans as each loan was a consolidation of the previous loans plus a bit extra, so would they have taken this into account, my thinking is that each additional loan to would have been more due to interest on the PPI element or have I got ths wrong

Sorry its a bit long winded but any advise woud be great

    Thanks

Some great news from my first confirmed response to various PPI reclaims.....

All PPI refunded together with interest on 5 (linked) consolidation loans with Halifax between 2001-2010!

I'm now £19,400 happier :) thanks to everyone who helped me pluck up the courage and energy to fill in the questionnaires on here :)

Congrats - I've just had an offer for 6 loans that were linked but not got a great breakdown of the offer - did your offer explain if some of the money was due to the fact they were linked? thanks
  • I wonder if anyone can help me, I received a letter from halifax regarding my PPI complaint on an active loan. I have had the complaint up held.

They are refunding premiums of £3185.18, Refund of the interest £1947.22, Interest of £962.03 (caculated up to 28th June 2012) and excess balance of £1325.89= £7420.32 refund total. The letter then goes on to say that they will set up a new loan without PPI and that will have a balance of £8593.

My question is do they use the total of £7420.32 to reduce the existing loan or just the premiums and interest part of it, basically do I get any cash back into my hand so to speak. the The letter states that ''we have caculated the balance on your new loan by taking the outstanding balance on your current loan account (£12,500 includes int.) and reduced this by the amount of your orginial PPI premium (£5574.06), less the additional premiums that have been included in our offer above'' The letter is confussing!

This is my first time using a forum and thank's in advance for help.

    Hi guys

First complaint with egg not sure of payout yet but front loaded ppi as £3685 so it will be more than that.

Second complaint is interesting, i had complained about charges to barclays on a current account and didn't win, then claimed for ppi on the over draft, i had to chase and then they said that the previous complaint was the same complaint and not upheld. Completely didn't take them as seperate complaints, so i found the email address for robert diamond on here and last weekend emailed him with all the detail plus send letters. i gave him 7 days before i went to fos. This morning i have a letter giving me £3245 for the ppi on overdraft.

Am so happy... my advice if they are not obiding to the 8 week deadline and messing you about, go to the CEO before FOS as in this case it certainly worked...
  • Hi All

This week I have contacted my local lloyds tsb bank to ask how I go about claiming my PPI back on a number of loans which I have had over the past 10 years. I have given them all the policy numbers and reasons for why I am putting my complaint in. When I had two of the loans running I had life insurance and critacily Ill insurance cover so feel I should not have been sold the PPI. On another loan the advisor verbally informed me that it would be in my best interest to take the PPi out to better my chances of getting the loan. How do I stand as this was a verbal conversation and it's my word against the banks, what chance do I have?

PPI/LIFE INSURANCE/CRITICAL ILLNESS COVER ITS ALL THE SAME CLAIM CLAIM I SAY EVERY PENNY.
the banks will tell you anything

    Hi,
Wanted to thank everyone for all the info and help, it has really helped me in claiming.
Just after a bit of advice, I have won my claim with egg who were supposed to pay out within 10 - 15 working days. I am now on day 17 and after ringing on friday, i have just had a message through to say they will reorder my cheque and it will take another 10 - 15 days for it to come as the first one has gone missing!!
Just wondered if there were any guidelines on paying or any ideas how to speed it up as the wait is driving me mad!
Will not believe i have won until i have the cheque in my hands x

:j:jOffer letter through this morning... just under £7,000:T:T:T

    I'm over the moon:D:D:D

Their reason for upheld given, was that they were single premium PPI policies.

    Hi Di L,

Thankyou very much. It has been a bit of a tricky journey to say the least:rotfl::rotfl:but we got there in the end.

Will not rest fully though until the money is where it should rightfully be:cool:

Hi, can anyone help please? I have recently had a claim upheld by FSCS against Freedom Finance. I had two loans, one of which I had received a refund of the premiums after 5 years, the other I hadn't but FSCS want proof that I haven't had it. First Plus, who the loan was with, haven't been very helpful. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you resolve it?
Also the redress from FSCS is nowhere near the 8% that other companies are paying, it looks nearer to the 0.1% that some current accounts pay these days. Is this right?
    Thanks for any help.
