I didnt know I owed them anything , i must do but havnt had any letters or anything in the last 4 years .
Get back in touch with them and ask for proof of the debt that you owe, they should provide this, if they can't, then tell them you will put a complaint into the FOS.

    Hi there

After having successes with loans with Santander and M&S, since my Lloyds credit card not being upheld, hubby has now had his credit card complaint with Barclaycard refused. Is it us, or does it seem more loans with PPI are successful than the credit cards with PPI?

With Lloyds, they asked for more information as they tried to contact me by phone to discuss, which I have sent them. Will wait and see but not holding out much hope. On the letter Barclaycard sent it stated all the reasons for the complaint but the actual refusal was so vague and generalised, it made me wonder if Barclaycard have got tough and are refusing a vast majority of complaints? Oh well, off to FOS we go!

Anyone had a credit card PPI upheld recently?

Credit Cards are hard as the PPI is shown on every monthly statement, write back to them first, if these were not final responses and show that you could pay these cards should the worst happen, show that you had no need of this insurance, if they mentioned that they gave you the information regarding this complaint, then tell them that just because they gave you info it does not constitute, according to FOS, a reason that they can use for rejecting the mis sell.

I recieved a second reply today from MBNA saying,

Further to our recent correspondance, please find enclosed a cheque for the sum of £365.98. the cheque is in full and final payment.

I am a little confused, the only previious correspondance I have had was to say they were investigating, is it normal for MBNA just to send a cheque without first offering it?

I have already settled with Cahoot, but i had to reply accepting the offer, this one just arrived with a cheque.

What is the average wait for a judgement by the FOS? I have only been waiting since December so I know I have sometime to wait, but I wondered if I could expect a response before Christmas??

Hi I thought I would share our success and encourage other to claim.
We took out a loan with First Plus (through a broker) In 2002 and foolishly added more to it in 2005 directly with First Plus. I claimed sickness benefit on the PPI in 2009 for 5 months.
I downloaded the Financial Ombudsman claim form sent it back for both loans.
First they said 2002 loan was not sold by them so they were not responsible for selling this PPI.I then thought I would write back but four days later a letter arrived from First Plus with a total offer including interest for both loans Total payout £21,659 :j

Payments to the loan will now reduced dramatically and awaiting my cheque :)

Also found loan paperwork for BOS for a loan in 1999 completed Financial Ombudsman claim form and copy of agreement. I've just banked their cheque for £3,586 :T

One very happy couple dig out your paperwork and send it you have nothing to lose!!!

    Hi
can I ask how long it took with first plus as I have been in touch with them and waiting to hear back

    Thanks

Send this to FOS with all that you have put above, why would you take this PPI if you had cover elsewhere and paying the card back would not have been a problem.
There have been lots of wins on here with internet applications, don't give up.

    Thanks amersall

Off to the FOS I go just have to be patient now

Keep sharing your knowledge with us all it's greatly appreciated :T :T

    Hi there

    Well done on your offer.

I've never had any direct dealings with these, so maybe someone who have will post up of their own experience soon.

Did the offer come with the letter to explain, and if they upheld or a goodwill offer?

    Hi there

As you will be aware they are over-run with these complaints, they usually update say every 2 to 3 months, they do try to resolve as soon as they are able to, but they do state it can take up to 18 months, although this will also depend if further info is required from both yourself and the business you are complaining about.
Hopefully you will hear soon though, because it can still happen at earlier stages, good luck.;)
