PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hi everyone.
I managed to claim just under £4000 from Halifax for a loan I had a while ago. This success got me in the mood for searching through all of my credit card agreements and statements to see if I was paying PPI elsewhere.
I've discovered my wife and I both have PPI on our Halifax credit cards which neither of us can ever rememebr agreeing too, being asked about or having explained to us. But I've also spotted something on my Tesco credit card.
On every statement there is a charge for 'Cardholder Protection Plan'. I looked into this online and discovered it is not actually PPI but some sort of insurance to cover theft of the card I think.
The CPP payements are not always the same though. Depending on the balance the payment increases. This makes me wonder if it is actually some sort of PPI.
Really confused by this. Has anyone else ever deal with it?
I was never told about the cover when I signed up to the card so could this also be a claim?
Thanks for any advice.

When you settled the loan they would have given you a rebate of the PPI total, the remaining PPI would have been paid back by you in the settlement figure.
They should give you the total PPI back on all loans less the rebates they gave you at settlements, you get the PPI that you paid to date back with the interest and the 8%.
Cheers thanks for that. I will let you know how I get on.0 -
I had 6 month full and 6 month half pay along with a pension, life insurance and death benefits through my employment which would have made the payments and render any claim I had invalid should I have made one, but was not aware of this until recently
And the FOS guidline
“So whilst it is important that the customer has access to the full policy documentation, it is not enough for the firm to say it met its obligations simply by sending the customer the policy document and highlighting the customer’s right to cancel the policy”.
Do the rules vary for on-line applications or does this cover it
Send this to FOS with all that you have put above, why would you take this PPI if you had cover elsewhere and paying the card back would not have been a problem.
There have been lots of wins on here with internet applications, don't give up.0 -
Not a happy bunny today as I have received a load of dribble from Black Horse rejecting my ppi claim on a pre 2005 loan.
Question has anybody had re-dress on their rejection either before or post FOS complaint?
What were the reasons for rejecting and was this a Single Premium PPI?.0 -
I have noticed there are different FOS PPI questionnaire template. Does it make a difference which one is completed? They are obviously for Credit cards and loans, so which one would you complete for claiming from a catalogue company??
Thanks in advance0 -

The only time ever in my life where being an excellent debtor has paid...
Thank you so much to Martin, amersall and everyone, i cannot believe it...

hello,
Please can someone help me. I wrote to reclaim ppi on my barclaycard which i had in 2004.
I waited some 10 weeks for a reply in which they offered me 147.60 which i think is very low as it works out to being £88.70 plus interest £6.73 8% £52.17 Total being £147.60. Due to ill health and redundency in 2009 i went to dept Management where i have been paying them £18.00 per month to clear the dept. Last month after sending a re claim letter they wrote to me and said they had sold my dept to another company.
They have said that because i owe them money and i am in dept management i am entitled only to the 8% of £52.17. is this correct i think the amount is very low and they have sent a form for me to sighn to accept this amount. I have not done this as i do not think any of it is right. please help where do i go from here. Thank you so much0 -

If you think you were mis sold this then put a claim in and see what response you get, put that you were never asked if you wanted this and how did they actually apply this.0
