hi all , wondering how i can complain about claims advisory group...silly me agreed for them to claim my ppi.thing is they sent me an invoice for nearly 2500 pounds and the letter from the bank offers me 1499 pounds, they say an initial offer sent to me from the bank was nearly 7000 pounds which i havent seen, so it is down to me to pay 39% ov the first offer from the bank even though the letter i have states considerably less.surely thats fraud.

oh yeah im in an IVA so i wasnt aware i wouldnt get a penny back and claims advisory group njever asked about mt financial situation.

As you are in the IVA you need to write to the claims co and tell them they should not have taken your claim on under these circumstances and that you are reporting them to the MOJ as all they have done is give you another debt to pay.

They take the % from the total PPI amount and not just the PPI that you get back that you paid, it seems as if they did not explain anything in more detail to you, especially that you would not get anything back due to the IVA but would still have their bill to pay.

Wife got her Letter from Barclays upholding her complaint she almost fell out of the chair as it was for a loan dating back to 2002 (when paid off) she received £6691 by a cheque today approx half of that is interest .
    :money:

Just as I said they will "say anything that comes into their mouths" making you think this was with another department and making it sound like a rejection.
    :j Well done

    Hi all
My husband and I have just written to 7 different companies including Bank of Scotland,Alliance and Leicster,Vanquis x2 and Creation all for misold PPI/ROP (Vanquis), That was two weeks ago and we have heard nothing back yet from any of them, does anyone have any idea on time scales from these companies? Evan a letter of confirmation would be a great start.
Any advice wouls be great!! :):)
Some should acknowledge the complaint in about 14 days, some take longer, they have 8 weeks in total to give you a final decision.

If you have no acknowledgements in the next week, I would give them a call and ask if they have received the complaints.
  • What were you reclaiming: Loan
Who was the provider: Clydesdale Bank
How much did you get back: £3855
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: One phone call!!!!
And then write your brief reclaim tale

Hubby phoned(his loan), they asked him a few questions, we received a letter after a few weeks saying there was a slight delay but they would attend to it ASAP...received letter yesterday with offer...replied yesterday saying 'yes please'!!!lol I actually think this took less than 8 weeks from start to finish!!! Woohooo...thank MSE board...wouldn't have had the courage to do it on our own without reading about so many successes!!!
June 2012 Clydesdale Loan=[STRIKE]£12620[/STRIKE]£1246.47- (only 5 payments left but just received £3955 back from it for PPI!!!)

checked my bank account today and the first cheque which i sent with the "lost" letter has been cashed by santander, as royal mail have obviously found it, and as i never cancelled it they have been able to cash it. So, does this mean that they do actually have some info to send?? and if they do this is completely unacceptable as if this "lost" letter had never arrived then i would never have known!
If the cheque has been cashed I would think that they either have found info or it is for the request when they said there was no info, give them a call and ask why the cheque has been cashed.

I am going to contact the ombudsman as I feel my complaint is a genuine one which should be upheld, can anyone tell me how long this usually takes? Also do you think it would be a good idea to write to barclays asking them to reconsider as I dont accept their reasons for the rejection?
Write back to Barclays and ask that they reconsider your claim as you reject the reasons for not upholding, prove that you had no need of this PPI and that you could pay the card should the worst happen.
If they will not reconsider then you have to take this to FOS, the waiting time with them could be up to 12 months or more.
Basically I was approached by someone who asked if I would be interested in taking out a credit card. He completed the form for me to take out a credit card, he said the PPI was not optional. He did not explain any terms and conditions. I cancelled the PPI when i realised it was optional.
I assume this was not a bank? how can someone on the " street selling Credit Cards " have the time to explain the full cost and exclusions of this policy? put this in your letter too, handing you a leaflet explaining how the PPI works is not a reason to reject a claim and the FOS do not accept this.

Do you think the remaining PPI would of been taken out of the settlement figure and would I only be able to claim back the PPI I have paid. Could they end up taking some back from me? Sorry for the long post.
When you settled the loan they would have given you a rebate of the PPI total, the remaining PPI would have been paid back by you in the settlement figure.
They should give you the total PPI back on all loans less the rebates they gave you at settlements, you get the PPI that you paid to date back with the interest and the 8%.

thankyou to the people on here for all the info and to those that helped me.
i found out this morning that egg have upheld in my favour (egg loan) and a letter confirming that and my refund will arrive in post shortly....thats all i know,no amount.

unfortunately....and this is what i'd appreciate a bit of advice with please...

barclaycard gave a final response refusing me.
now....they refused me because they said it was a postal application for ppi after the card was taken so i would have asked and understood.
COMPLETE LIES!!!!!! as i stated in my claim and paperwork i got the card, complete with ppi in branch and was basically told i had to have it or i couldnt have a card.....i vividly recall that day as i literally went in travel agents, booked a last minute hol then went a few doors down to get a credit card for spends!!!! and told the man this!! and was young and niave so believed i had to have it.

i rang barclays back but they say now that final reponse letter has gone out it doesnt matter if a mistake was made my only option is the ombudsman.

so where i would like help is in phrasing this to the ombudsman,im so damn fustrated and angry that its a complete lie that i want to compose myself and fully think it out and what to say before i contact the ombudsman....i do not want to cry on the phone, neither do i want to get too angry!! help please x
You fill the questionnaire in with all your details and why you were mis sold this PPI.
Enclose the rejection from Barclays and put on the form that the Barclays do not even know that this was taken in the bank and not by post, prove that you could have paid the PPI should the worst happen to show you had no need of the PPI.
If it was a postal application as they said, then you receiving the PPI booklet through the post does not constitute that you had the PPI explained to you.

today they wrote to us and said the form we used was not acceptable and we have tro do it their way! Any one else had this?
The form off this site is accepted by the banks, it is possible that they want you to fill "their" form in, call them and ask why they need you to do another form when you have already sent one in with the complaint.
