    Hi all

Just a follow up to this received a letter today and the complaint I did not even make on the cc has been upheld for the amount of £5,074.53.chq in the post in 28 days I have £2000.00 outstanding will I get a chq for £3,074.53 or the full amount then I pay the outstanding balance?

Not sure of the reason but it says ongoing balance was higher than it would have been if you paid the same payments without ppi??

Thanks very much for your help this is a bit of a life changer so well happy been n debt far to long

Received the chq in full today took 3 weeks in total not bad for a 20 sec phone call.

sorry I can be very stupid in this kind of matter. I know I should be more aware of everything but Im learning slowly the English way of dealing with things here.

The loan is still going and I have a fixed payment every month but I can not guarantee how was the deal done. I didn't do any separate payment for the PPI as I cam remember.

Thank you very much for all the good tips and I will ring them (as it is LLoyds) and tell them what you have advised me.

Let's see if I get a positive response this time

    Thanks

    Celso

Thank you for your reply. I rang the complaints line and was told they did not have telephone transcript , it was too long ago.
On my letter they have stated
'The insurance was added to your account because yoy chose to do so.However you had an opportunity to change your mind as a policy summary was mailed to you.We offer a 30 day no quibble.guaranttee.
As to ascertaining personal information from the customer to determine their sutability for the product, this is a requirement of an advised sale under the FSA's ICOR regulations and our insurance sales have always been non advised. We have always given the customer details of the policy and let the customer make an educated decision if the policy is suitable for them@

Surely they should have ascertained if the policy was suitable for me not mu suitability for the product? Also I do not have any policy documents that I can find(although we are talking since 1997 even though they state the insurance was upgraded in 1998 and 2003. This all sounds like a cop out to me.I have initially written my rejection letter but is there anything else you think I should add please. Many thanks for your help.

this is similar to what I have received I am going to write to them asking for the transcript, how do they know what was said?
surley they would have the transcript to know this?

So how did they know what was said to make you take this PPI, giving you details of the PPI does not constitute that you knew what the PPI cost, and I would put this in the letter, also, if this was not an advised sale, as the transcript is not available, how do they know what the salesperson said to make you change your mind, you did not want this initially but then took it after a phone call ??, tell them that if they cannot prove that you asked for this PPI after declining it at application, then you will take this to FOS.
You must have not ticked the box for PPI otherwise you would not have had the telephone conversation later, something must have been said to you during the phone call that made you take this PPI.
Thank you I will draft my letter carefully as I feel they will do anything to get out of this .

  • further to my rant of yesterday we have received a letter from the H.M.R.C telling my wife she needs to do self assessment form .
now up to now we have made many requests for the form to be sent to us which they say they will do (ITS IN THE POST) THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR MONTHS.
in the letter their are the warnings of legal action being taken if they do not receive this form by a particular date.what a joke these people are.
on the letter they do have the wifes name but on first line of our address they have put the last three digits of the postcode.
the next line which is the name of our town is correct but they cannot even spell the county name correctly.
as i said what joke and these people are collecting the taxes for our illustrious government.god help us all.
CAMERON AND OSBORNE WILL HEAR ABOUT THIS LETTERS BEING PREPARED BUT HEY WE ARE ALL IN IT TOGETHER .YEH RIGHT

Yay, another success with my Natwest loan or should I say loans...I took out a £5000 loan via the phone which I was advised to take out PPI due to my age and that my application was more likely to be approved. This loan was then consolidated with a £7500 loan a year or so later in the bank with the Manager. There I recall him asking if I require the PPI. I said no and specifically remember the conversation about my employment benefits and the reasons I no longer need it. He then agreed with me.
I sent off a complaint letter to Natwest re the first £5000 loan, however to my surprise today I have recieved an offer from both of my loans as BOTH had PPI on them...the cheeky little monkey!!!!
Another £1498.58 thankyou taking our total to over £4000, still waiting on Capital one and Barclays so fingers crossed:j

I'm not sure that's the phrase I'd use to describe that Bank worker, who will likely have gained a commission for doing that to you!
