There is little point in sending a further complaint to the Bank's chief executive if your original has been rejected. Letters to the Chief Executive might only be beneficial to you if redress payments have been tardy or there has been no response for an unacceptable period.
The correct procedure (which is all any CEO's response would tell you) is to take your dispute to the Ombudsman.

It is worth it for Single Premium PPI, CEO will not like this if it goes to FOS, this should not have been rejected and the reasons they give have nothing to do with SP PPI, it may just make them reconsider as the FOS will uphold this anyway :)

I think MSE blocked them for a time because they were being used for general complaints rather than one's where every other avenue had already been explored.
More like Osario and Diamond complained to ML:D most of the complaints that were made to CEO on this site were for the fact that these banks were extracting the urine big time with the PPI mis sell saga, and one department not knowing it's a**e from it's elbow. if any employees did not do the job correctly I am sure the boss would want to know pronto :)

Apologies if this is in the wrong place, I am new to this.

I am trying to reclaim PPI from a loan for replacement windows.
Coldseal was the company, now liquidated, I contacted First Direct who's paperwork the loan was on, they advise me it's nothing to do with them, they mereley provided the credit and underwrote the finance, so i need to contact the agent coldseal.

I don't know what my next step is, can anyone help?

    Thanks

What year was this Loan taken out? if it was on or after 14th January 2005 then the FSCS may be able to help you with this.

If it was before this date then you may struggle with this, if it was before, then give FOS a call and ask what you should do regarding this.

The amount of loan was £10,000 . Plus charges was £13,466. Monthly payments :£224.11. PLUS...premium loan of £2124.28 plus credit charge of £731.72 total premium loan £2856.00. Monthly payment £47.60 for 60 months. According to the credit agreement the premium loan is a ppi payment!!!!...
    .

If this Loan ran to term you will get the £2856.00 less the £1800 and 8%, the 8% is on a decreasing scale from the start date of the Loan to the date they pay you the redress, for each months PPI payment that you made you get the 8% and this goes down each month to the date they pay you out, this 8% is taxable if you are a taxpayer and I think Barclays take this out before they give you.

If this Loan was settled early they will have given you a rebate of the PPI and they will take this off the whole PPI amount above and the £1800 plus you get the 8%.

Barclays did not find this info as it will have been archived, you did not request the info with the claim for mis sell otherwise they would have found this, they looked at the mis sell claim.

Here’s a (very) good news story, and it’s all thanks to the excellent people on this forum with their fantastic advice.

Having stalked the forum for a while, a few weeks ago I put in my own complaints about mis-selling of 4 PPIs, the biggest by far being with First Direct. My main reason for complaint was the same for all 4, and pretty strong from what I could gather from this forum. Namely, I was in a job which provided better benefits (the usual 6 months’ full, 6 months’ half sickness; at least 6 months’ redundancy; 2X salary for death in service). Capital One rejected the complaint, so I’m taking that to the FSO. Two others I haven’t heard from yet. But I came back after a weekend away to find that First Direct have found in my favour. Other relevant facts about this one are that I distinctly recall the PPI acceptance box arriving pre-ticked, after being advised to take it over the phone. I’m also fairly sure the PPI was front loaded, but not certain. To be honest, I had no idea how far back the loan went, I just knew it was at least 10 years, and I’d finally paid it off last year. I was expecting, at the very most, £10,000 because it was quite a large loan. I was stunned to find that FD were offering me £30,324 in full settlement! I still can’t really believe it. I’ve sent the offer acceptance letter back (obviously!), but no indication yet of how long before the settlement comes through.

Now, apart from the fact that FD are obviously – like most other banks - a bunch of PPI-mis-selling bandits who helped themselves to a lot of my money they weren’t entitled to over a 15-year period, they did put their hands up to this one pretty quickly – 5 weeks in fact, which presumably just goes to show it was open-and-shut. So, in case anyone was wondering, First Direct were mis-selling PPI left, right and centre, and I would encourage anyone with a case to get cracking. One thing that did astonish me though…I knew that my original loan with them had been consolidated, probably twice, at the very most 3 times over the years. Their investigation uncovered 8 loans consolidated over 15 years. I admit I haven’t been that attentive about my financial affairs, but even I know there’s no way I rang FD to renew my personal loan that many times. It sounds a bit haddock-y to me, but when there’s £30k on the table…

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I wouldn’t have had the confidence to make this complaint in the first place if it hadn’t been for the superb advice and encouragement of the terrific people on this forum (and Martin’s guide of course), so thank you very, very much. Never underestimate the fantastic work that you’re doing. I don’t think it’s putting it too strongly to say that you’re changing people’s lives.
