Followed Martin's advice to claim PPI paid my bank account flexi-loan, which I had only paid when I used the facility, and got back all payments made over the last 6 years + interest. Only £320 but spurred me on to claim for personal loan on which I made final payment in 2010!! I had paid PPI for the first 3 years of the 5 year term before I stopped it (in 2008) when I realised through media coverage that I didn't have to have it. I'd assumed the three years' payments were lost but recent adverts and advice on MoneySavingExpert suggested otherwise!! I followed your website advice and contacted Santander direct. I even contacted them on their email contact of the Santander website. Yesterday, only ONE WEEK later, I received a letter offering settlement which included all the payments made + the interest = £1239.46!! And it didn't even cost me postage!! Wow, why did I wait so long?
Thanks Money Saving Expert. You gave me the confidence to 'do it myself'. Great advice and tips.0 -
Hi Am still waiting for information from Capital one. I sent them the original letter to ask for credit agreement. I received a reply saying: That as my account was closed in 2008 They didnt have to send me any further information relating to my account!!!! What do I do now? Any ideas????:mad:0

Hi Everyone,
Halifax Credit card PPI Win
£567.25
Followed Martin's advice to reclaim PPI from Halifax Credit card. Went to my local Halifax bank, put in a claim for PPI charges, which was verified on their computer system.Seven days later i received a letter explaining that they were looking into my complaint.
Exactly 5 weeks later I got a nice surprise when halifax credited my credit card account with £567.25.- then 4 days later they withdrew the money out again. I was furious to say the least, phoned customer services, and they explained that they have issued a cheque for the same amount to be credited in my current account, within 5-10 days.
Thank you Martin, and MSE team, for all your helpful advice, and encouragement on ppi reclaiming!.
Best regards

well i finally decided to look further into this after keep reading through this thread and callled lloyds tsb. Turns out a loan i had totalling just over £6k in 2002 had PPI on it. I was 23 and financially very niaeve. and aother loan in 2004 for over £7.5k had PPI, remember thjis one and it was definatley not explained to me that |I may not need this if my work provided good benefits which it does! so Ive made the call, now apparently they send me a letter where i fill in some details and go from there? To be honest I'll be surprised if i get paid out, I'm just not that lucky and we could really do with it at mo lol. We'll soon see so fingers crossed and ill start checking the credit cards!0

I wrote a letter to Halifax saying I know I had 1 loan, maybe 2 with them in the late 90s. Didn't have any details but I'm still a customer. About 5 weeks later I've had a letter saying I had 3 loans with them and will be getting a cheque for almost £1,500 in the next 28 days! yippee!0
