Info for all those waiting for Halifax cheques-
Found out today your name goes onto a spreadsheet and is monitored daily they seem to wait till the 28 days from your offer letter
I think Lloyds will be the same.

I got my uphold letter from Halifax dated 21st May but I had to email the CEO regarding a different issue so I slipped in ppi and how disgusting it was that they take 28 days after an 8 weeks response to issue a cheque even though I have banked with them for over 20 year. Why can't they just transfer??? Within an hour someone had rang me back from Chester customer relations apologising and that I had misunderstood the 28 days....a cheque was issued on the 23rd (the day before) 2nd class post (bet it doesn't arrive today though even though 2nd class is 3 working days incl Sat!) I have a direct name & no to contact them back x:rotfl:

  • I am self employed.I had one sucesfull claim fo£4870.00 on PPI on a business loan with Lloyds TSB. I used your template letters.
When I asked for details of all my loans from them they said I had also had a pesonal loan that had been credit scored in 1998 and only gave me the product number and said it had been credit scored over 10 years ago.
I then wrote to the bank (Lloyds TSB) to ask for details but because I did not know the account number they said I could not have the details.
I then the rang the bank and followed the menus and eventually got through to a women who said "all we need is the product number and your name and address" 8 weeks later I recieved a letter saying it was so long ago we have no records so we will pay you an average of all the claims they have made in the past. £1200.00
    Thank you Martin

    Hi Dalex,

Well done, can I ask about why you were mis sold our PPI on your halifax mortgage?

I believe we were mis sold for the following reasons, so I'm looking to put the form in for compensation:

    1. Hubby had plenty of cover from employers
    2. I was self employed
    3. I have pre existing illnesses
    4. We thought we had no choice and wouldn't get the mortgage without the insurance

I always resented having to pay so much for this insurance!

    Cheers

    Debs

Offers came today totalling £19708 - happy isnt the word. Like many others i am now debt free (apart for mortgage) and £410 per month better off. One down side is my feelings towards the bank, they have used my unfortunate circs to fill their greedy pockets. Even this week they were on the phone asking if i wanted to add my credit card balance into my loan. What pleasure i will take when i clear my outstanding debts.
Thanks to everyone on this forum and good luck to future claims.
Dont use reclaim companies , do it yourself.

CLAIM BACK WHAT IS RIGHTFULLY YOURS !!
  • I made a claim folllowing the instructions on this site for PPI on my mortgage with the halifax. The mortgage was paid off over 2 years ago and I did not have any paperwork about the cover all I had was a roll number for the mortgage. 8 weeks later I received 2 cheques totalling over £7700!
    Thanks MSE:j
