Was this PPI paid back in the Loan monthly payment and not by a payment separate to the Loan?, if it was then this is Single Premium PPI and this is the reason for mis sell that you use, this was a loan on the loan paid to term end with interest, if you cancelled the PPI they would have given you a pro rata rebate of the PPI and the remaining PPI is still on the loan to term end.

If you settled this loan early then, as above you, would have a pro rata rebate and you would have paid back the remaining PPI in with the settlement figure.

:DI think I finally understand why this single premium is so wrong now:o Bet you think i'm really dumb now!!

Lloyds tsb ppi on 2 loans complaint upheld..Total of £9,000 on it's way to me!!!
Lloyds tsb credit card ppi claim refused, but wrote back telling them, they were not present when i applied for the card at the branch, that i did not recall ticking the box for ppi and they only ever advised me about card protection on the account and for them to prove they would have paid out if i had to claim for pre exsisting condition. I would not have bought a policy if were not going to pay out!!

Update...Letter yesterday, telling me they were going to settle with £9,000 for 2 loans with ppi...should have money sometime after the 11th of June....
Well, checked account today and money was paid into account this morning!!!!!:T:beer::money: :D

    Hi
Ia m hoping you fantastic people can help me out i am looking to claim back ppi, i had a loan from a company called (at the time) Capital Bank (not to be confused with Capital one) this is 13/14 years ago I had a £1000 loan and paid back £2600!! I was young and very stupid, i had the gold ppi cover as i was advised to do. The company is no longer in existence I believe how do I found out who took over of if the company has been renamed?. I have no paper work at all as this was so long ago, I just dont know where to start but dont want to not do anything at all as I believe surely I should be due something back. Thank you so much for any help or advice that can be offered.
I also did have credit cards for companies such as Egg, Mint, and PPI for a settee I purchased from DFS years ago (which I have proof of the payment to Black Horse for) I know that Barclays took over Egg but not sure about Mint, is there an address list antwhere for current companies and old one??, thank you.. xxxx

After taking advice from this website I made two claims against Lloyds TSB, one against loans and one against a credit card, both dating back to the early 90s.

I downloaded a form from the TSB website and completed it, I had very little information other than the account number, sort code and a rough date of the loans, but I did still have a statement from the card.

I received a letter a week after my application informing me that they were investigating my claim. Today I received another letter containing notification of two loans with payments due amounting to £7442.55 and I'm still waiting to hear about the credit card.

The whole process took me an hour to complete and 46p for a stamp, 7 weeks later I'm reaping the rewards.

All I can say is do it, and do it yourself, don't bother with the brokers or whatever they like to be called, it's easy. I didn't even know if PPI had been applied to the loans, the bank found that out for me and I didn't need to appeal to the Ombudsman either.

And to think, I almost didn't bother... Thanks Martin! :T

    Lloyds

Applied to Lloyds refund of PPi on 2 accounts one personal and one business. Both up held due to pre existing medical condition. Payment for personal account straight into bank in a couple of days after letter. The business account I had to sign acceptance form faxed back 11th. The interest in the offer letter up to 4th May same date as the letter. Called today for update as to when payment would be made and was told 8 weeks from the date of the acceptance 11th May. Asked if the interest would be recalculated to the date of payment was told yes. Bit of a fiasco isnt it ? Not talking of a large amount just £931.

Oh well sit and wait I suppose Oh was also told today at the back of the queue so will have to wait my turn. That told me !

Received another phone call this morning from Lloyds TSB asking me the month I started work at the University in 1989 so that they could finalise my claim. Is this a hopeful development?
