Ok so kinda a success from lloyds and kinda NOT.
Called the dedicated ppi line around 20th march regarding a credit card account I have held since 2001, acknowledgement letter approx week later. Letter upholding complaint received on Fri 4th May for grand total of!...... £23.70! (unfortunately not a typo!)
it seems they have based this on the set of Duo cards (they send an amex and MasterCard one) first issued in March 2008 according to them. On my initial phone call l did indicate that I had had a credit card account with them since 2001 according to my credit report and I presumed this was all basically one account as I don't recall applying for a different credit card with them. According to their records I cancelled the ppi on this card in July 2008 hence the tiny redress (can't remember cancelling) - the letter did not outline when this had been calculated from and I had to call to get this info. so, fair enough if I cancelled it fine. They then tell me I have to make a separate claim for the card I had from 2001 with them even though I presumed they would take this into account - fair enough, but they aren't even able to find the account number despite me having the last 4 digits from my credit report. Have been in branch and called ppi department and standard credit card department whom have now sent an email to whomever to track down an account number that was still active up until 2008 but has now suddenly disappeared from the system!?
Has anyone else come across this issue with lloyds?? Really not sure what to do if they come back and say I have to supply the number, should I then complete a sar and see if it pops up in that information?0 -
Need a little bit of advice. Took a secured loan out with Future Mortgages in 2002 for £5000 over 10 years - introduced to Future Mortgages through Loanline. There was PPI insurance on this secured loan and I was never asked if I needed this in the original application therefore I believe I have been mis-sold. I have copies of the paperwork. I have contacted Future Mortgages stating that I feel that I have been mis-sold PPI. They forwarded my letter to Loanline but unfortunately this company is no longer trading. Apparently this company was not regulated by the Financial Services Authority therefore I cannot claim via the Financial Services Compensation Scheme and Future Mortgages are denying any liability also.
Is there anything else I can do??0 -
Virgin credit card success! (MBNA).
Particularly keen to win thi one, after they pushed my interest rate up from 19.9% to 35.9%, meaning I was screwed until my employers provided a loan at a much improved rate.
Claimed based on the fact I was mis-sold PPI on the card. I signed up in the service area of Ferrybridge services, and didn't tick the box, or discuss PPI. I had provision in place elsewhere.
Refund of £4369 inc. interest.
Letter came Saturday, 'Payment due in 28 days'.
Cheque arrived today, Tuesday, 3 days later. VERY efficient.
That's over £7,500 I've had this year, and the two companies involved have been very efficient, no hassle. I'm a happy bunny! Taking my wife on first holiday in years.Used to work for the Halifax; now works for another bank. Any comments are my opinion or suggestion, not a recommendation!0 -
very happy with this......been offered £1300 from santander(after nearly 6 weeks!!)for a ppi refund i never knew i took out!(apparently).
the loan for £5000 was taken out about 2002/2003 with alliance and leicester
in 2004 i decided to pay it off early
i only new that the ppi was included with the loan payment because i had an early settlement letter sent to me which showed the amount of ppi rebate taken off the loan's final figure.otherwise i wouldnt have known.
the settlement amount was £3334
ok,im happy with this of course.its the refund of the ppi ,with interest.but should santander be giving me compensation on top of this because they put it in on the sly?is the refund amount correct.?
please let me know

I have today received my final response to a query regarding ppi on credit cards i had and Tmp on my mortgage. The response was very confusing as it jumped from subject to subject. I have been offered the huge sum of £27.24! My mortgage was an endowment, yet looking back at my back statements i have found that i have been 3 other insurance companies for life and critical illness. I did not need TMP with the halifax, apparently it comes in 3 parts MRC, LC and CIC.
I have been advised that i did not have the MRC part so have no claim.
I have found proof from the Experian website showing my 3credit cards which i am sure were opened with balance transfers. Unfortunately although i have a start date for each of the cards, i do not have documentation to prove they were started with balance transfers. The documentation i have from Experian gives me the start and finish dates for the cards, some of which have been open for longer than 6years.
The Halifax did mention that if i could prove the history of how i used my credit cards they would redress their generous offer!
I am really at a loss where to turn to next, i have found this website extremely useful and am now hoping someone would be kind enough to help me know what to do next. It is driving me demented, I look forward to hearing from anyone who is kind enough to help me.
I work for the NHS and have 6 months full pay and 6 months half pay so i believe these products were mis-sold to me.
Thank you for reading this.0 -

Give FOS a ring and ask if you could make the claim to the insurer, due to the year this was taken out FOS and the insurer route may be the only way to go with this, good luck.

Not sure if this is the right place or not, please feel free to redirect me if not.
Basically i sent all my letters and paper work off to Welcome finance to claim back ppi i had on a loan back in 2007.
They sent me a letter back saying i did not have any ppi on this loan.
But my paper work showed 2 amounts added to my loan (lifecare 24 and medicare) for a total of £375! so i called them today and asked that if i didnt have any ppi on my loan could they please explain these two amounts that had been added to my loan! as my understanding was that these were insurances just under another name!!
her response...'you put a claim in for ppi not for those to insurances, if you want to claim back those you need to write another letter asking to claim back these!!!'
How annoying!! why not just admit they are the ppi and process the claim!
So my question is..do i use the same letter template for ppi claim back to now claim back these 2 amounts??
this post is also to make other people aware the welcome finance may try and do the same to you so be aware!!0 -

Ask for all info they hold on you, enclose £10 and give them 40 days to respond, this may throw up some statements that show you paid the PPI and you can use these to get Halifax to reconsider the decision, you need to let them know that you are doing this request as they will close the CC claim if they do not hear from you.
It is possible that the Sar will not go back to the start of the card but it may get you enough info to show the PPI.
With reference to the TMP, post your question here

They do not give compensation unless there are exceptional circumstances, this redress looks good on a loan that maybe only ran for 2 years, they also take the rebate of PPI back what they gave you when you settled the account, they have given you full redress, if you got the 8% interest then this is taxable if you are a taxpayer and you have to declare this to HMRC unless the bank have already taken this off the redress.0
