Just received a letter from MBNA that they upheld my PPI complaing :j:j:j

PPI Premiums to be refunded: £3106.73
    Interest to be refunded: £1648.46
    8% interest: £443.80
    Total payable £5198.99 :j
The letter states the cheque will be with me within 28 days. Anyone got any experience how quickly MBNA pays out?

  • Hi all

Have not been on these boards in quite a while, good to see so many are succeeding.

After my successes two years ago with Halifax and Sainsburys Loans, I am now helping my parents with their claims.

Starting of on a very positive note, Nemo finance have contacted my parents off their own back no claim was lodged to say they believe they were missold, the total repaid to them was over 7K, which has cleared the remainder of the loan and a cheque into their bank account.

The next one currently in motion in only small, an opt out rather than opt in policy sold on HP TV via HFC bank from Comet - fingers crossed that will be a couple of hundred pounds.

The big one that I have high hopes for is slightly complex and I was hoping for some advice, it is an MBNA credit which he has had since it was Alliance and Leicester. When it was A&L i lodged a claim back then for PPI and then also a follow up letter as they had been ignored and no response received, despite repeatedly requesting they cancel the policy. Life happened things got in the way and we have only just got round to picking it up again. We completed the questionnaire and have sent that off, so just waiting for news. What I am wondering in should we expect to just have to make one claim through MBNA, or will we need to make another claim through Santander for A&L premiums before MBNA took over?

    Thanks

Hi I wonder if someone could give me some advise I have two ppi complaints with the bank of Scotland one for a loan which is now in its 14 week this was for a home shopping loan, I have phoned several times and have been told they are still investigating I feel I am getting nowhere with this:( they have said they tried to call me regarding this last week on my mobile but my phone shows no calls for the time and day they claimed to have called. The other is for a preference card they have upheld my complaint and offered a payment but they have not added any interest although I had statements showing interest added. I spoke to them on the 2/5/2012 and pointed this out and someone said they would deal with it and I phoned today to ask for an up date to be told a cheque had been issued for the amount without the interest added even though I had not accepted this I have now been told I have to wait a further 28 days for this to be redressed. Is there anyone I could e-mail or talk to, to get this resolved any sooner, thanks in advance.:(

Quick question, I had a loan at Black Horse where ppi was front loaded, I also stated I did not want the insurance and was told that unless I could give them account numbers and specifics of cover I had right there at the meeting I would not get the loan without the insurance. I then had no choice but to accept.

I have the agreement for this loan, but it also states part of this loan was to pay off a loan I already had with Black Horse (I have the account number but no copy agreement)

My question is the following, I have filled in the FOS questionnaire for the agreement I have, should I just include a covering letter also mentioning the other loan account number and ask them to look into this too? I know this was also front loaded and I would have stated I did not want also. Would they do this?

Or should I just send them £1 and ask for the agreement, then once received fill in another questionnaire?

If the latter, would it matter if the 2 questionnaires were sent at different times?

Sorry for so many questions, would appreciate any responses to my questions.

    regards
    Darren

    Hi there

Yes you can mention about the other one the same time if you want to - if the mis selling reasons are the same, otherwise complete separately, remember to enclose both account numbers.

If the account is still open, you can if you want to request for a copy of the agreement, as it's not always the case if the account is no longer active, and as long as you know you had ppi, you can still continue with the reclaiming, without the need of the agreement.
They should send you a detailed written breakdown when this is resolved, or you ask for this.

    Good luck.

    Welcome back.

First of all well done on all your successes.

Also the best of luck with your parents reclaims too, good one.

I would contact Santander or MBNA to make sure on this, because I note on some posts, where A&L have been taken over, some are saying its not them you write to, or if you contact the FOS, the general customer query line on the free tel number (to get it right first time), maybe they would know for sure who will be dealing with A&L complaints.

    Good luck.

    Hi there

Try finding out who the Chief Executive officer (CEO) of the business is, and maybe this will help.
    Or:
Contact your local MP, if you voted just recently, they should only be too willing to help you.

Keep at them and also well done.;)

    Hiya

    Me again!:D

Congratulations from this site as well!

I think from what I can gether from other posters - who have dealt with them, they are pretty ok on paying out, sometimes even before the 28 days, fingers crossed.

I phoned today for an update on my mortgage ppi claim as it's been 8 weeks now. I was told that a letter is due to be sent out to be but the person couldn't see what the letter says. She did say though that there were calculations on the letter. I asked what that meant and she said that their offer would be in the letter. I'm assuming that they wouldn't be referring to calculations if they were going to turn down my claim so am assuming that my complaint has been upheld. Does this sound that way to anyone else?
    Success so far:

Bank charges refund plus interest: over £6000 :j
Mortgage PPI refund plus interest: over £9000 :j
