    1) How can Lloyds have information re my oldest loan (the one where I have received a few hundred pounds) and not the 2 loans subsequent to this?
This loan redress may have been a goodwill gesture, it is possible given the year they have no info regarding this.
    2) If one of the loans where I have been paid £1200 was paid off with the newer loan, would this affect anything re my claim?
As this was paid off with the next loan then you would have been given a rebate of the PPI and this would be taken off the redress for this loan, this could be why.
    3) Am I able to query specifics as to how they came to their calculations by ringing them up (I'm intrigued by how they came to the figure re my oldest loan!)?
You can ask how they came to this and they should give you a full breakdown of all the redress on each loan.

As these were consolidation loans then any rebate you got when you settled these with the next has to be taken off the redress now for each loan, ring them and then you will know how they worked this out.

    HI All

    £2642.87 yey!!:j

Another one done, though not 100% if need to call them.

Had my upheld letter dated 2nd May stating full refund, associated interest etc etc and advising that I will have a cheque within the next 14 days.

However on Saturday I had another letter dated 3rd May stating we are sorry for the delay in your case blah blah we aim to have a decision by 31st May???

I am hoping this is just an automated letter as the one dated 2nd has a full breakdown and that the cheque will be made out to me etc etc and sent within 14 days?

any thoughts or anyone had similar:cool:

Probably sent in error, is the ref number the same as the original claim you put in? if it is then they have crossed, if it is not, it could be another account they are looking at :D

Hi I sent Barclaycard (credit card unused and account closed for a good 4/5 years) a letter asking for a copy of the T&Cs and they sent this reply

"As no sum is, or will or may become payable under your credit agreement, Section 78(30(a) of the Act provides that we are not obliged to provide you with the documents and information you seek."

Can someone help me with this? Is this simply the first smokescreen - in which case, what should I do next? Or should I take it at face value and no longer pursue it?

Since sending the letter I have (thankfully) managed to find the old credit card account number so I could just fill in the FOS form and send that - what do you think?

    HELP!

A couple of months back I recently found an old loan agreement form (from Lombard) amongst my papers and saw that there was PPI, helpfully totalled up to c.£6.5k on the front of the loan agreement (yeah, it was a big loan). So I filled in the online form and sent off a copy of the agreemnet to RBS (who now own Lombard). And last Friday I received a letter from RBS making a settlement offer of £8.5k (the orignal PPI amount + interest).

I'm as happy as Larry over this - I hoped that I might get some of the PPI value back, never dreamed I would get it all plus interest.

And of course I'm now trawling through my other loan agreements to see whether or not they are worth pursuing.

    Hi there

As long as you still have the account number, you can still make a reclaim on the ppi, not everyone has copies of their agreements and have still been successful in making a reclaim.

When accounts close, CCA's are not always kept on file, yet if you request for a full subject access request (SAR), sometimes you may find this enclosed within the remaining of the data of the paperwork (of this account).
If you did want to request for a SAR, optional of course, there is a letter template below, they have 40 calendar days to comply and send all data in relation of that actual account.
You enclose the one off payment of £10 cheque or postal order.

But as said above as well, you do not have to do this if you do not want to but it may be useful if you do not know if any ppi or not, and any details of any insurance taken should be enclosed within the SAR info somewhere, even if's its not the credit agreement. They normally hold data for the last 6 years, although this can vary from one bank/business to another, where in my case on one of mine I received data going back from the 90's.

You can continue to make a reclaim if you want to by completing the reclaim questionnaire below, send to the ones responsible for setting it up and who sold it to you from the start of the policy, and keep copies for yourself as well.
Hope this helps, good luck and the reclaim questionnaire is below link.......

  • Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me a bit of advice. I put in a complaint regarding MPPI on a mortgage I had between 2005 2007. I received a letter back saying that I did not have the MRC element of my cover but had Life Cover and Critical Illness cover so therefore could not not complain about PPI. It goes on to say that if I should want to complain about the other elements of my policy to contact them. I did have another Life cover policy at that time but was made to believe that I had to take it or I would not get my mortgage. Do you think I could make a successful claim for this reason? The only problem is that I do not have proof of my other Life cover from then. Thanks

thanks for raising critical illness cover as we feel we were completely duped in to buying this.we received no help from sales rep that we could obtain elsewhere and feel that over £14000 pound paid in a 7 year period was excessive.wehave since found out that we could have bought the same cover for a third of the price .also he said no ins no MORTGAGE but how we prove that may be problem.

    Hiya

I would put your complaint into a letter, and do not use the reclaim questionnaire in this case, because they will come back and state that it's not PPI. (which will only stall matters).

So what you need to do is write and tell them your not happy with the way a product was sold to you, with your reasons why and try to enclose any copies of paperwork you may have, which may help.

Have you any documentation in regards of this account?
If not you can request for the paperwork by sending a Subject Access Request (SAR), where they should enclose all details of this account by 40 calendar days, you enclose the one off payment of £10 cheque or postal order.

    SAR template letter below.

You need to make it clear that the arranger would only allow the mortgage if you accepted the cover and there was no full explanation of the policy, and nor did you know that you could have taken one out elsewhere, because of the arranger saying you will have to accept their own.
Do you mind confirming what bank/business this was please?

    Cheers.

Quick question, I had a loan at Black Horse where ppi was front loaded, I also stated I did not want the insurance and was told that unless I could give them account numbers and specifics of cover I had right there at the meeting I would not get the loan without the insurance. I then had no choice but to accept.

I have the agreement for this loan, but it also states part of this loan was to pay off a loan I already had with Black Horse (I have the account number but no copy agreement)

My question is the following, I have filled in the FOS questionnaire for the agreement I have, should I just include a covering letter also mentioning the other loan account number and ask them to look into this too? I know this was also front loaded and I would have stated I did not want also. Would they do this?

Or should I just send them £1 and ask for the agreement, then once received fill in another questionnaire?

If the latter, would it matter if the 2 questionnaires were sent at different times?

Sorry for so many questions, would appreciate any responses to my questions.

    regards
