If this was not a final response then contact them, tell them you disagree with this rejection due to the way the card was "sold" to your partner and how can anyone have had the time to be told about the cost of the PPI and read through the terms and condition in that environment, if your partner had a good sick pay package from his employer and life insurance then tell them why would anybody pay for extra cover when two of the insurable benefits were already in place and the sick pay was free.

If this was the final response then send all paperwork to FOS fill in the questionnaire and enclose a copy of the rejection you have from the bank.
Thanks for your reply, yes he had a very good sick pay and life insurance!!! Didn't need ppi at all.
What I'm most annoyed at is they say they havnt received our forms explaining the situation it was sold, how can they make a final decision with no information, the letter says its there final decision because he signed the form, but all forms are signed !!! Do you think it would be worth ringing them to ask how they made there dicision with no paperwork !! Because they conveniently didn't receive them.

You could ring them and question this and tell them about the sickness and life insurance, if they will not reconsider then pass this to FOS.
  • it had come to light that my loan formed part of a consolidated loan chain.

Wow, that's what happened to me! Here's hoping mine is as successful!!!! :D

    Enjoy every penny :T

Complaint upheld by MBNA - letter dated 16/04/2012, received 19/04/2012 advising payment within 28 days. Cheque received 21/04/2012
My journey hasn't been as hard as some and it is almost over for me with all complaints upheld bar one!

Clydesdale Bank - upheld credit card
    RBS - upheld credit card
    RBS - upheld loan chain
    MBNA - upheld credit card
Capital One - rejected - referred to FOS Dec 11 - awaiting response

The best thing about it... I did it all by myself so no claims company ripping me off! :D

Thanks for all the advice from MSE :A, I couldn't have done it without you all and wishing everyone the best of luck with ongoing claims! Keep at them, it will be worth it in the end!

    :j  :j

    Hi all

I am after some advice please, i recently sent in PPI claim to Barclay Card which today ive recieved a response stating- we are sorry about the sale of PPI and thanks for the time on letting us know, we have completed our investigation and unfortunately we are unable to locate a policy in your name, as a result your complaint cannot be upheld.
However if you are able to provide policy documentation or policy number we will re-open our investigation.

My original letter(PPI) stated the 16 number barclaycard reference to which is the policy number?

What shall i do next any suggestions please

    regards

I'm wondering if aybody can help. I had complained to Barclaycard about PPI for a Barclaycard cc and Egg cc. After emailing CEO about length of time I had waited received letter saying Egg cc they couldn't find any info on but if I could provide any further info they would look again. Unfortunately I don't have statements, policy numbers etc. Barclaycard cc was rejected due to being postal application and they say I opted for it. This was their final response and I could take to FOS if not happy. This was taken out in 2003. I then sent a SAR but on receiving there are only statements from Barclaycard cc going back to 2006. My query is surely if they could tell me my application was postal and I had ticked the box for PPI I should have received a copy of this? Should they not have sent me statements etc from Egg cc now Barclaycard. Would it be useful for me to send SAR to Egg? This cc was one that account was closed (but was still paying balance) before Barclaycard took over.

Sorry for so many queries but am seriously unhappy with Barclaycards customer service (by far the worst bank I have dealt with) and any advice would be gratefully received as not sure what my next step should be

They only need proof that you paid PPI.
Do you have statements to show the PPI being paid at all? if you do then you can send copies of these in and ask they look at this again.

If you have no statements then send a Sar to Barclys, ask for all info they hold on you, enclose £10 and give them 40 days to respond, this Sar may throw statements up.
