me too just sent my comfimation back too the adjuicater saying we accept not sure how long it will take too get our money just hope they dont try too take it off our loan
the only way they will take it off your loan is if you are in arrears, when they clear your arrears you will get the surplus back to you.so if you arent in arrears you will get the whole of the refund direct to you

    HI

After a long 12 months wait the FOS has upheld my complaint against Welcome Finance for the miss selling of PPI.

An adjudicator has requested I am refunded the full amount of PPI on my loan of £3500 which is £1821.90 plus £200 compensation for my distress and inconveniance.

"Overall I conclude that Welcome Finance failed to pay sufficient regard to the interests of its customer and that it did not treat her fairly. Because of this I am of the opinion that the complaint should succeed"

I still have two weeks to wait and see if Welcome finally do the right thing and pay up! If not it will drag on longer but I wont give up!

Hope this gives some hope to everyone who has been patiently waiting. Its worth it in the end.

Big thanks to Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis

Just had a letter from Egg saying I'm getting the full £844.18 worth of premiums back :-)

Didn't even realise it was that much, was expecting a few hundred at best, and after a fight, but this was just one letter and less than 4 weeks waiting! It's being paid back onto my Egg account, rather than proper cash, but that's better than never seeing it again!

Martin - sincere thanks. More than £800 quid I assumed I'd not see again for just the cost of a stamp and a printout.

A&L wrote to me last month to say I may have been mis-sold PPI on my £3500 loan over 36 months. I took this out 3 years ago via their online MoneyBackBank.com. I didn't even know for sure that I had PPI as there wasn't a lot of paperwork to accompany the loan process.

Anyway, today I got an offer of £199, comprising waht they say were the actual insurance payments made, plus some interest.

This seemed fair enough until I read Martin's post from way back, which suggested 15% of total repayments, might be the rule of thumb.

Question is, should I accept? I don't know what the PPI portion of the loan actually has been, so should I take their word? Any advice appreciated.

    Thanks a lot.

    Yes--thats OK--in a later post you specify 4.97 pm so 36 x 4.97 + 178.92

    8% (if loan from 1/3/2006) around £21

    So everything in order

Yayyyyy!!!! So so so pleased to finally see a welcome complaint being upheld on this thread. Can I ask what date the FOS received your complaint? How long ago was it allocated to an adjudicator? And what were your reasons for mis-selling.

    Well Done!!!:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T

    Hi Thanks for your post

I dont know the exact date the FOS received my complaint but it was around the middle of March 2008. I got a letter dated 10th March 09 from the adjudicator to inform me he was now investigating my complaint then on the 13th March I got another letter confirming that my complaint had been upheld and Welcome have by the 26th March to reply.
My reason for miss selling is that during signing my loan agreement I felt pressured by the salesmen into taking out the PPI and fet I really didn't really feel I had any option. The PPI was just added to my loan in one lump sum.
