  • A quick question, has anyone reclaimed against Lombard direct? My husband has a loan with them and has been paying £62.28 a Month PPI, which he was told he must have.

Also he has been paying separate PPI of £10 a Month for the past 6 years for some reason.

I claimed against A&L and they have admitted i was misold the policy, but Lombard seem a bit more tricky.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks

    Hi all,

I am hoping someone can please give me some advice as I am unsure what to do.

My boyfriend wrote to Natwest on 5th February to tell them that he had been missold his PPI. He currently pays £440 a month for a loan he took out with them in January 08 and for each payment of £440 - PPI is £105. He asked them to cancel it too.

He has received a reply back today from Natwest - 12th March, and they have said they are unable to uphold the concerns as he had a cancellation period and was advised correctly by the colleague in the bank who sold him the loan but as a goodwill gesture if he fills in the form he can have £750 in his account very soon. The thing is, even though this is lovely news - I am not sure what to do - whether he should take the £750 or ask for the full amount which should be more like £1470.

What should we do? If we say no to £750 could they then refuse to pay anything? Should he just accept the £750?

We would be very grateful for any advice you can give us. It is a big decision and a gamble that we don't want to lose out on.

    Thank you once again,

    K xx

    Hi,

I've received a letter from RBS regarding my NatWest loan PPI advising me that they have been unable to uphold my concerns in this instance and to reflect my valued custom the Group is prepared to make the following offer as a gesture of goodwill and without any admission of liability. The bank have offered me 274.56.

However, reading through their letter again today I noticed that this relates to a loan which was paid up in 2000. I took out another loan in January 2002 but this has not been mentioned so I'll be writing to RBS to query this and enclose a copy of the loan agreement which I've managed to find!

I'm wondering whether this is a deliberate oversight on their part of whether I'll hear about the other loan in a separate letter. Anyway, I'm going to write to them to make sure they know I'm chasing up the second loan as well.

Good luck with your PPI claim!!

Thanks Di, you're always so encouraging. Just what I need when I'm feeling a bit unsure about it all!! I think I'm going to accept the offer of ₤274.56, mainly because I can't actually remember how much that particular loan was for! Now I know it doesn't relate to the other loan for which I think the PPI was between ₤2,000 and ₤4,000 (the loan agreement says 'Premium loan' ₤2,070.00 and 'Total charge for credit' ₤3,770.40 so I'm not sure which of these might be PPI, or PLP - personal loan protection insurance) I can pursue this claim and hopefully get an offer more in this region.

    I'm still living in hope!!!!

Hi i have put in a claim with Lombard Direct, and had to go to the FOS who wrote back to me at the beginning of Dec 08 to say, that Lombard wanted to pay me out as a "good will gesture". And it would take between 6-8 weeks for them to do this. It is now going on 12 weeks and im still waiting, after speaking to the FOS about this they have informed me that it's taking Lombard alot longer as they have a huge back log of people to process. My point is, if they did not steal from us in the first place, them they would not have a back log. The FOS have said that they will send them a reminder about my case as it is well over due i'm hoping it comes through soon. Good luck with your care dont give up.
