I still don't know why the Bank worker tried to differentiate between eight weeks and "40 working days". That's just confusing the issue for you further and it refers to exactly the same length of time!
It probably suggests that ringing for updates from random staff isn't always a good thing.
This is definitely a game of patience!

When did you send it? They'll usually acknowledge receipt within about two weeks. Did you send it recorded delivery? You can check it has arrived via the Post Office.
The phone number on the acknowledgement just puts you on almost permanent "hold" in my experience. I'll therefore reserve it for those who are wanting information about their re-dress or loan re-set.

I sent it about a week and a half ago, recorded delivery have checked online it arrived so just have to wait now then, thanks

    Hello,
I recently posted details of my Halifax Credit Card Success and have now received a breakdown of the refund. Can someone please advise on what figure I need to pay 20% tax?

    Premium refund £2137.17
    APR Refund £1570.15
    Rebate Refund £773.85

It should just be the Rebate Refund of £773.85 you declare for tax.

    Congratulations :j

Can I just ask -did you send your complaint to Barclays? I have an old egg Loan(paid off) which I'd like to claim my PPI back on.
I've also just had success with Egg. I remember my old login details and they still work so I was able to message them and get all my account details including payment statements, free of charge. It took a bit of nagging and 3 attempts, then I got 3 statements at once so there must have been a ghost in the machine.

I filled in the ombudsman form and sent it to them, last week I got a response refunding all PPI plus interest plus a modest amount of compensation.

    Very happy.

Also, on another point I have sent letters to BOS regarding loan PPI. I have an outstanding balance of £1700 which I pay monthly at £191 and this is paid by DD. However, the March payment hadn't come off and i phoned the bank this evening to find out why and was advised that the balance has been cleared and my loan account is in credit. Can they do this? My loan account is up to date and i've not missed any payments. I've been told to phone them back tomorrow and they will speak to the PPI department to find out what the situation is.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

With reference to the loan, what was the original PPI amount?, this may have cleared the balance on the loan, as they have to take the whole PPI amount from the loan when you win mis sell, you get back to you the interest on the PPI and the PPI payments that you made are returned to you, if the loan is cleared with the redress and the loan is now in credit, they will be (or should) be returning this to you.

    Hi Derek3882,

Just saw on the lloyds website stating they are trying to send payments within 28 days, and if you dont receive payment within this time period then you can call 0845 601 2683 and they will try and get payment sorted within 5 working days,

    Hope this helps

Do let us know how you get on.
I'd be putting aside quite some time for that call if I were you, it's likely to be swamped with callers and I suspect you may find yourself on "hold".
