PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Just got another uphold letter!
What were you reclaiming: Old Loan (~12 years ago ish)
Who was the provider: Lloyds (actually it was TSB at the time)
How much did you get back:
£488.53 refund of premiums
£543.02 early settlement difference (was paid off early, guess they refunded me some of it)
£941.59 8% standard interest
Total: £1,973.14
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman:
Sent FOS questionnaire in early FEB.
Reason for mis-sale was I had other cover in place, had other means of paying etc (was living at home with no outgoings) so really didn't need it, plus it was front loaded.0 -
Hey all,
I have just received my cheque from Egg for the loan I had in 2002 then topped up in 2004. Fully paid off in 2007
I filled in the complaints questionnaire from this site in January. Exactly 8weeks from the acknowledgement letter I received a letter saying my complaint had been upheld with a breakdown of what I would be receiving by cheque within 10-15working days.
Received my cheque on the weekend after only 6 working days for £3500.
Thanks to everyone on this site!0 -

My advice? Accept and enjoy!
I do treat it as a success, but what bothers me is, they gave me £500 for 4 years owning and paying PPI (I paid off and cut up the card in 2006) so from 1988 to 2002, 14 years in total, the amount of PPI I paid will be around 2k, they know it, I know it, but they won't acknowledge pre-2003. I was in the Army too for those years, so PPI was useless for me. After reading the successes on here, I feel slightly cheated as that money is mine. I was forced into purchasing a product I couldn't even use. So a partial success. Good luck to everyone else.0 -

Congratulations :j
Can I just ask -did you send your complaint to Barclays? I have an old egg Loan(paid off) which I'd like to claim my PPI back on.0 -
Hello,
I recently posted details of my Halifax Credit Card Success and have now received a breakdown of the refund. Can someone please advise on what figure I need to pay 20% tax?
Premium refund £2137.17
APR Refund £1570.15
Rebate Refund £773.85
Also, on another point I have sent letters to BOS regarding loan PPI. I have an outstanding balance of £1700 which I pay monthly at £191 and this is paid by DD. However, the March payment hadn't come off and i phoned the bank this evening to find out why and was advised that the balance has been cleared and my loan account is in credit. Can they do this? My loan account is up to date and i've not missed any payments. I've been told to phone them back tomorrow and they will speak to the PPI department to find out what the situation is.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

It is so annoying I have phoned them today which is almost 2 over the final date and still nothing. Frustrated.com0 -
What were you reclaiming: (eg. loan, credit card, store card)
Who was the provider: (e.g. Capital One, NatWest)
How much did you get back: ????
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: ????
And then write your brief reclaim tale
My story:
Reclaiming insurance from a loan that started in 2005 from Abbey National. After using the template from this website I received my payments back and interest to 'put me back in the position I would have been if I did ot take out the insurance'. One letter!
I sent the letter at the start of this month (March 2012) and received a letter on 22nd from Santander with an offer of the pemiums I paid and interest. I'd call that a win! :j Next stop, credit card! Wish me luck!0 -
