Just a quick query. Some ppl seem to be getting refunds days after offer made. I thought you needed to accept an offer before they would refund you, or is this not the case.
Hi Jules , I got my cheque from mbna a week after my letter. but looking at posts on here i think they are pretty quick. i aslo got letter off halifax it says if i dont want to accept offer to get in touch within a week. but i have read where pple have just had it put in bank accounts unbeknown to them. so i dont know really looks like the banks have there own rules.0 -
I had no paperwork or details of any of my previous loans/credit cards so rang the Halifax and got through to the PPI claim dept. The lovely young man on the phone advised me to ring the loan department and ask for any of my loan ref numbers and then ring him back. He transferred me through to the loan dept who gave me the ref numbers and I then went back to PPI and logged a claim based on the fact that I have been employed full time for the last 20 years and would have received full pay for being off sick so therefore I would not have been able to claim on my PPI. He also took my credit card numbers as I wasnt sure if I had PPI on those. This was on 1st February 2012. Yesterday I received a cheque for £9881 in respect of just one of my credit cards and there are seven loans in total being investigated. My husband also rang MBNA on 1st February 2012 regarding a credit card he had 8 years ago and said the same to them and we received a cheque today for £5200 from them.
We sent off no forms and simply made a phone call and received £15000 within 3 weeks and are waiting to hear about the rest. Happy days x
Hi Jogeldy, Fantastic :j0 -
Hi everyone, been bombarded with ppi claims on mobile, email etc, so today finally thought I would try some of my old loans.
One stood out to me but I paid it off in May 2002, so I rang them today and yes I had paid £5,700 on a ppi. The company is First Plus, it was a secured loan. They stood out because we didn;t want the insurance but they said we HAD to have it. We both worked for Royal Mail at the time in secure jobs, with long term sick pay, good pensions etc.
He took my application over the phone is this ok? Or should I still write?
He said if its successful we will get final amount plus interest. What amount of interest are we talking as I paid this off 10 years ago???
They also said they pay 8% apology fee as well.
Is this pretty straight forward? is it a given? How do I prove it was mis-sold? This was years ago!!!!
Any advice would be very grateful.no longer miserable in debt.... :T but dont know how to change my id!!:beer:0 -
So is it a PPI Reclaiming successes or failure?
Another person in the wrong thread0 -
Hi there everyone
firstly I would like to thank everyone on this forum for the invaluable advice I have had.
So far I have had the following successes.
HFC Loan £20,500.00 upheld
Natwest Loan £17,500.00 upheld
Egg Loan £7,800.00 upheld
All of these took one phone call each and no forms to fill in so DON'T use a claims company, it was the best advice that this forum offered me.
I need a little advice on a Barclaycard claim I have had this card for around 19 years and submitted the claim the same as the others, I was sent a questionnaire to fill in which I returned (in the envelope with an orange sticker on it) I don't know if this has any significance.
Although the date for the final response is 28th March I recieved a letter out of the blue explaining that they were sorry for the delay and that they were investigating my claim and that I should feel free to call them if I have any other information to offer them.
Is this normal? I dont want to read something in to it if it is not there.
I would be glad of any help.
Once again a big thank you, after many years of struggling to pay off cards and loans I am now debt free with a nice sum in the bank....
Same here have had my Barclaycard for over 10 years, call to lodge my complaint and like you I received a questionnaire.
I called to find out why and he just said in case they need it, but of course they are investigating bla bla bla.
I guess this is how they want to handle their claims.
Let's hope they settle without having to go through the FOS.0 -

Hi,
Well done:T
Like you LLoyds upheld my two PPI loan claims but rejected the credit card taken out 2001. I did not try claim. They said that I went to the branch and asked for the PPI cover on my credit card. I called them asking them to send me a copy of this agreement, the lady replied that they did not hold copies of these but I can go to the branch and i will be able to see the document, I asked her which branch and she said any!
Tomorrow I will be visiting the local branch and doing just that, I never agreed to this PPI, the only cover I have ever agreed to is my life insurance and BUPA.
Update
Lloyds continue to shock me!
Visited the branch, I was told that it is company policy not to keep any paperwork after 6 years. The adviser read my letter and took it to the manager who came over to apologize about the fact that I had to come into the branch to be told that the claim handlers are a bunch of liars, he looked very uncomfortable and he then said "please don't take this the wrong way but I would like to offer you £50 to be deposited into your account for your time and trouble"
He also added that only under extraordinary circumstances LLoyds would not pay out, which was not my case. A fax was sent out to the PPI dept and told me that I should hear from them within the next couple of days.
Will keep you updated.0 -
hello to all,
i only recently joined the site and was looking some helpful advice to possibly reclaim some ppi for myself with two situations ...1st one is on an mbna credit card i had for 2 years from 07 to 09 and on statements it clearly states payment protection cover every month varying from 16 to 18 quid monthly...i applied for the card online from MUFC WEBSITE and dont recall seeing ppi info or section but got it anyhow so surely i would be entitled ???...............second one is from a car loan fully paid off now, i took out in feb 2006 with an ULSTER BANK WHO ARE BASED IN REPUBLIC OF IRELAND and this is what im not sure about, on documentation it clearly states where i paid ppi sum of nearly 2500 euro on 20 k loan so please hope to get refunded, however does ppi refund exist in ireland at the moment or is it same thing anyhow as the ulster bank are owned by RBS ???..
wait response ,thanks...0 -
