Hi
Looking for some advice. Put a claim into RBS re PPI for loan that I had paid off stating that I had been advised to take this out since I had taken my 1st loan with them in 1992. Today I received a letter with previous (5) loans taken out. They can tell me the loan account of each and every loan and the start date but are saying due to the passage of time they can't tell me if I had PPI or not. Loans are from 1992 - 1998.If I can give them any more information they will look again. Problem is I don't have paperwork from 1992 onwards. Is there anymore I can do with this?
Do you have the figures?,if not ring them back and ask them for the term and apr and monthly payment for each loan, ask whoever you speak to that this calculation will tell them if the loan carried ppi or not,if there is a surplus of money at the end of the term of the loan, then this is ppi.
Hope they can help you with this.
People have won mis sell with loans from the 90s,i think this may be because you have no agreements that show ppi being paid.
If they wont calculate this for you, post the loan terms and apr and monthly payment on here, and someone will work it out for you,if there was ppi, then you can take these figures to the Ombudsman.0 -
Hi
Not having a lot of luck with PPI claims. Have a claim with Barclaycard re CC which I sent in Nov 11. They sent me letter saying I would hear back by Jan 26th and another December updating me and still saying would hear back Jan. Received a letter middle of Jan saying that they had had no reply from Dec in which they had asked for a FOS questionnaire (had letter and looked and nothing to say they wanted questionnaire, which was enclosed with initial complaint letter). I duly sent off another copy of FOS questionnaire enc a copy of letter from Dec and have now received a letter to say that as they were waiting on further information (fos questionnaire) investigation into complaint couldn't be completed by original date and due to heavy volume of complaints they couldn't give me a date when investigation would be completed. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is this a stalling tactic?0 -
Co-incidentally I received a letter from Northern Rock today asking if I wanted to claim on the loan I have with them. I actually had PPI on it and a couple of years ago I claimed and they re-jigged my payments and gave me a refund of the PPI I had paid. Can I claim again?MBNA responded with a copy of the Agreement, it must have been submitted over their phone as there is an "X" where my signature is and the PPI box is unmarked so I am assuming there is nothing further to do on this?
Do you have statements showing you paid ppi?,if you do,then send a claim in for mis sell with a copy of the agreement showing you did not ask for ppi but it was put on the account.
Sometimes cc ppi is put on when you activate the card,if they respond to the mis sell with "you purchased this over the phone" then get back in touch with them and let them know that you did not want ppi initially,so why would you then take it a later date.
If they say they "have a recording" of the sale, then request this also.0 -

Thanks again for answer to Barclaycard query as well. Will wait and see how long they take to get back0 -
Hi,
I had a letter off Lloyds regarding my Mastercard PPI offering me £644 on 22 September 2011... BUT, I am still waiting for the payment **20 WEEKS** later (140 DAYS) so much for the 28-56 day wait!
I have called them 4 times to find out what the delay is, but nobody can tell me, I'm just told to wait...and wait...and wait...and wait!!
I have also had a claim accepted by MBNA for four loans I have had from them in the past: again the 8 week wait that they state on their answer machine has come and gone, it is now 14 weeks and I am still waiting for the offers to come through the post.
I did try once to call MBNA, but I was put on hold for 54 minutes on a premium rate number, 10p per minute, and then they cut my off before I had even had time to speak to anyone. Not trying that again!0 -
Hi everyone!
I've never posted before but have used the forum to help me submit my PPI claims. just thought I would share my success with everyone.
In November 2011 I sent complaints to HSBC and EGG for mis selling loan PPI.
Complaint number 1 : Egg loan taken out in 2003, paid off early in 2006. I sent one letter and they repsponded within a week that they would give a decision by 30 Jan. Yesterday I had a letter saying my complaint had been upheld and I would receive a cheque for £3676!!
total complaint time = 12 weeks.
Complaint number 2: HSBC loan taken out in 2006, still ongoing. Sent one letter, standard response sent, then update at 8 weeks. 4 days letter had letter saying complaint upheld and I will be getting back £7836!! this will clear my loan and leave me with a very nice amount.
total complaint time = 9 weeks
all in all I have claimed back £11512 with two letters. I am over the moon!!
This site has been fantastic and I thankyou all for your posts that have helped me without you even knowing.0 -

Hi everyone, I'm about to start a PPI claim with Nemo Personal Finance and I'm interested to know whether anyone on here has made a successful claim with them? And if so how long did it take?
Thanks,

after following your advice mbna have upheld my claim which is great but I would love someone to look at their figure please. They have sent me no breakdown of figures and the interest figure seems very low.
The card has been active for 6 years and with quite a high balance
they say
Premiums £4332
interest associated £1539
interest at 8% £0
The Apr on the card is 14.9 %
any advice gratefully taken their letter states I can goe to the FOS if I wish as this is their final response,
many thanks

Hi janeyg45, the interest figure is zero as the card has never been in credit during the 6 years, you only get 8% interest when it is in credit. The other figures look OkSuccesses
Sainsbury's/BOS £6,400 Paid
MBNA £3,600 Paid0
