hi lovely people
I am a newbie, however been reading this thread for sometime now. I sent a letter to littlewoods claiming they missold my ppi. I rec a letter back telling me really to get lost and I could not report this to fos as my policy was sold before 22/12/03 and they were not a member until that date.
Is it worth sending a 2nd letter or should I take this as a definate no.
Please help.
Hi hun
Sorry to hear this and if this was the only letter you recieved write back again and tell them you will appreciate it if they reconsidered on your reasons for you and you are aware your unable to take to the financial ombudsman service, but will consider other options in taking this further otherwise.
(this may make them think) even if you do not want to take this to small claims courts, but if its taken quite a bit of your money, I would keep battling them.;)
If you receive the same response again let us know and we will try to figure out another way, but write again anyway to receive a final response from them with some of my words above if you want to write them.
Good luck.

hiya my case with loanmakers for mis selling ppi is also with the ombudsman0

hi just to update my case against loanmakers for misselling ppi has been with the FOS for 13 months still awaiting an adjudicator, but i have recieved a letter from FOS this morning telling me that loanmakers went into administration 3rd feb 09 and they would be in touch within 4 weeks, just dont know where its gonna go from here
Hi there
So sorry to hear this and this must be ever so annoying for you due to the fact that you have waited 13 months already.
However did the FOS inform you if they moved this on to the Financial compensation scheme for you (FSCS), this is normally the case or maybe you should contact the FOS to ask them where should you go from here.
You could also contact the FSCS as well, they will then confirm anything with you and if the company are listed with them now that Loan makers have gone into administration to send you out a form to complete where these take over.
On the other hand, it may actually be dealt with through the Administrators from here if its in their hands for now.
Here are the details for the FSCS (compensation scheme):
http://www.fscs.org.uk/
I would start by asking the FOS though and take if from there, as there must be another way here, or wait the 4 weeks like they said they would be in touch, good luck.;)

I took out a 5 year loan in Aug 2007 and got PPI. I felt slightly bullied into getting this insurance. I was 23 at the time and it was my first loan and she clearly knew this. I felt that I couldn't say no. However, it added about 3,000 onto my loan.
Is it worth my writing to HSBC to ask them to cancel this and repay what has been paid already? I haven't made an insurance claim.
Is anyone else in a similar situation?
Many thanks0 -

Hi,
I would definitely try if I was you, it will only cost you the price of the stamp.
I have just been to my HSBC branch today to restructure my loan and I'm now waiting for them to credit my account with my refund and it only took one letter and an eight week wait.
Good Luck

Hi, I came across this website last week and have since started a claim for bank charges but now i am looking into PPI on a personal loan i have.
I phoned a company about this but they are charging £495 to handle my case, what i would like to know is, is there a way i can do this myself without having to pay out all that money.
Hope someone can help. Many thanks. Paul.0
