I received a letter from HFC bank to settle my claim for mis-sold PPI. I had the figure of £400 or there about, the letter breaks it down as follows HFC are paying me £1,419.74 plus 8% stat interest £765.48 making a grand total of £2185.22 :j . I would have been happy with the £400, so now I can clear all of my overdrafts, and start to concentrate on the credit cards.
Once again massive thanks to Di3004, maxdp & pinknico. I couldn't have done it wihout your help. THANK YOU ALL0 -

.......well, when the money is in my account, til then, i aint counting me chickens
..........well done to all those recent winners
........to all of those who pop in here and think that it will never be them, if you dont ask, you dont get, he who dares.......and all that
........take me, i never thought i would have a chance at all, my loan was taken out in 2000 and fully paid by 2003.......which only just qualified in the time limit, but thats just a guide, it could be further back than that but if you find some original paperwork from way back, and you took out PPI with it, give it a go, what have you got to lose, the price of a stamp or two
.........hi to di, amersall, max and pinky, and yes, you can all have a few of my chips

Thanks to the people who created the letters and posted their advice. I am a bit of a pessimist about this sort of thing, but in January made myself write because I decided I had noting to lose.
I was reclaiming PPI sold on two Egg Loans. I wasn't sure at all how much I had paid, and was astonished to recieve £1310.69 on just one of the loans. They are disputing the other as I applied over the internet, so I will challenge that. I wrote only one letter, so I got this back within about 2 months wait.
I have more debt than I would like and I have challenged myself to reduce this by at least £6000 this year, and this almost unexpected windfall has really helped with that. I should pay off both the loans now by April, which will be a real weight off my shoulders.
I would encourage anyone wondering about doing this to do it today.0 -

This is the first time i have done anything like this and when i saw that we can claim for PPI i was straight on to it.
After reading a few threads nothing was mentioned about Barclays so thought that it would be no good how wrong i was. I printed off the template and sent it to Barclays the beginning of February and within a couple of weeks i had a response with one of their own claim forms to fill in which i did. They said that they will be next contacting me by 12th March so fingers crossed.
We borrowed 15k over 7 years and after the monthly payments including PPi i now realised to my horror we are paying back 24k so hopefully a nice sum will be coming my way.
I will keep you informed.0 -
